When McCain was nominated, many Conservative Republicans did not support him. Even Ann Coulter announced on Hannity that she would not support him. To win the Conservative vote, we all know that McCain nominated Palin.

Would you have supported a McCain/Ridge or McCain/Liberman ticket? As strange as this may seem to you, I could have supported either of those two.

First of all John McCain has always been my first choice among all that have run for President this cycle, primary or general election. Easy answer.

Next, for cotton-pickin sure, I can not and will not support an Obama ticket with ANYONE, even the Pope, as a running mate. Obama stands for everything I loathe about American politics.

John McCain is an American Patriot. Barack Obama is an American politician.

Nuff said.

And if Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter don't like it that I am a McCain supporter first and foremost, I frankly don't give a $#!+.

GF, good question as I did not support McCain in the primaries. I do support him in the general because he is significantly closer to my world view just as I anticipate most Hillary supporters will come arouind and vote for Obama (althought many are not).

As for McCain/Ridge or McCain/Lieberman I would have stayed home because for me the right to life is a threshold issue. Both Ridge and Lieberman are pro-abortion. I know McCain really wanted either of them but much cooler heads previaled and told him he would lose 10 of the base for every moderate he licked up. The fact is neither party can win without the base.

I would have voted for McCain with any of the VP choices. Why? Because I was raised to value the right to vote and to always vote in every election, AND because McCain more closely represents what I believe than Obama. No candidate will ever meet 100% of my beliefs, but I must vote, so McCain is my choice. Obama does not in any way, form or fashion stand for what I believe is right.

Just want to emphasize that this isn't a Republican or Democratic thing - I vote for the person, not the party.
