Back up over half million jobs lost.

Let's hope this is a temporary blip and not a portent of growing unemployment. Looking at my business and the struggles my clients are having I am not optimistic. We are going to have more layoffs and salary reductions this week and next. I just heard a very talented friend who has been out of work for six months is weeks away from total financial ruin. Am praying his job interview next week goes well and he finds work.

I notice Archie has been quiet since we had to suffer through his "let them eat cake" exchange........which is a good thing. Lot of people suffering out there and it doesn't help them to have Obama supporters telling those out of work how great things are going for them while lives are being ruined.

Believe it or not Christina Romer (Messiah's top economist) said the stimulus is running out of steam!!! Steam?!?!? What steam is she talking about? Since the porkulus bill the economy has shed millions of jobs. And their maintaining it has saved or created 600,000 to 1.5 million jobs is a fabrication pure and simple. Even on the administration's website they only claim 30,383 have been created/saved at a cost of $16 billion. That is a cost of $527,000 for every job saved or created. In my business I could create 21 jobs for $527K. Does anyone wonder why I believe government isn't the solution to the problems we have, government is the problem!

Don't wake up Archie. As long as his business is doing well, all is right with the world and this abomination of an administration is right on track.

Of the total $787 billion allocated so far a total of $173.2 billion has already been spent. What they are saying is that for one program they have documented $527K per job but overall the cost per job is from $289,000 to $115,500 (600,000 to 1.5 million jobs). Does anyone believe those numbers? I know I don't.......

Someting's fishy here. If $173B has been spent so far and there will be, according to the Cenus Bureau 115M (0.115B) housholds in the US next year... that equals $1.5B per household.

I don't know ANYONE whose life has improved because of the stumulus. I do know folks who have been put out of work by the recession.

Where did those billions go?

...no... that's $1506 per household. (checked my math)

Still, if you gave each household $1506 the money would a)go straight into the market place b) go straight into investiments, or c) go straight into a bank.

My question again... where did tose $178.2B go?

I am a long time member of two other forums. A number of members and spouses of members are either losing their jobs or have already lost their jobs. Some have been out of work for at least 6 months. I don't think any of them think the economy has recovered. It's heartbreaking to see good people in a bad situation. A number of them are in the 50's, which isn't the greatest age to be if you are looking for a job or have to start thinking about a new career.

You are a real Conservative, first you promise me $1,500,000,000 for my vote and then say opps I have your vote it is really $1,506. Sounds like you spent too many years in the Pentagon spending my tax money on $1,000 hammers and $100,000 toilet seats. Now say it slowly......I will check and recheck my numbers!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the laugh. Cheers.

Huh?

“You are a real Conservative…” Actually I am independent, not as conservative as you’d think... but certainly NOT liberal. Y’all got a clue as to who I am… but it slipped by.

“…first you promise me $1,500,000,000 for my vote…” who asked for your approval? ‘Twasn’t me.

“…and then say opps (SIC – I never do that) I have your vote it is really $1,506….” Unlike the AGW folks, I reserve the right to check my numbers and then publicly admit I was mistaken.

“…Sounds like you spent too many years in the Pentagon…” I dodged serving at the Puzzle palace.

“…spending my tax money on $1,000 hammers and $100,000 toilet seats…” Uh… that was your buddy, Hansen… and I believe he works for NASA.

“…Now say it slowly......I will check and recheck my numbers!!!!!!!!!!!!” I… will… check... and... recheck… my… numbers.”

“Thanks for the laugh. Cheers.” As long as you are laughing WITH me… and not AT me.

GF has very constructive and intelligent posts in other forums on this site. He/she has yet to post ANYTHING on this forum based on fact, logic, or reason. Just ridiculous, inane, unsupported attacks on what he/she perceives as conservative. He/she has yet to back up ANY of his/her insidious attacks.

Its really a shame the GF denigrates him/herself in this fashion. Don't fret, just consider the source.

I rather like Fishin. She (or he) and I could hoist a few together and laugh 'til sunrise. It would be a boring and dangerous world if liberals and conservatives weren't engaged in political chess.

We both think we're winning this game. I keep a 1911A1 in case I lose. And, I'll bet she's archiving my emails in case she wins.

My F-I-L's WW II 1911A1 stays in a lock box at the bank. My friend of choice is black, has a "plastic" body, and its "stature" is expressed in metric terms. But with the ability to "express his loyalty" up to 33 times without taking a breath I think he will be loyal enough for my needs....:>)

I have been reading the post over the last few months and did notice "Archie's" comments on how his business is thriving in this obamanation of an economic downturn... I own an Architectural firm too, and we have NEVER been this slow! We have clients that have excellent projects with outstanding market studies, business plans, etc, and are having zero luck obtaining financing due to the new restrictions the fed has now placed on the banks. Recovery....What Recovery! I don't see any signs of Recovery in the commercial development sector... Just my two cents worth. VOTE ALL OF THEM OUT!!!

Now know what a WW II 1911A1 is. Amazing, I never heard of it before. But, maybe I spend too much time ironing, watching soap operas, cooking, and cleaning to be as worldly as you Conservatives and fence sitters(Independents). Isn't it horrible how cruel you guys can be a sweet blue haired female. I may even be one of CAT's many hos.

Mr. Hoddie....I think my posta are all concise and on point. You just don't agree with the contents so you have difficulty accepting them. Thanks for your follow up on the bank post. Too bad it was at the tail of that tread. You need to start a new one so everyone will aee it.

Have a great weekend and smile before the socialists take over.

Sorry for your pain, but, glad you're paying attention and hopefully talking to all friends, neighbors, etc and delivering the point that elections DO have consequences. We're got to elect enough non-democrats to change the power equation in congress. Hopefully we can overcome the braying jenny's (like some on this forum) who have and are supporting the disruption of the economic system that has created so much good, not only for Americans but also for others around the world.

Another officer in my division at the five-sided funny farm had a desk sign that read "Eschew Obfuscation"...:>)
