Need a roofer that does work around the Red Hill area. I am going to put on a metal roof. Need an estimate. If anyone on here can recommend someone please do. I will check the business section to see if there is an advertisement but sometimes word of mouth is the best. Thanks.

The good local guys are still wrapped up in the hail damage and are pricing things a little higher than normal. And you will have to wait. So if you can wait a little while you might get a better price.

Mcclain in Kent is your man for metal roof. He did excellent job on mine and was very reasonable. Call Alabama Steel Supply in Montgomery and Jeff or anybody else over the counter will give you his number.

I had a metal roof put on my place earlier this year and I used D.R. Deas Construction. D.R. did a great job. He was on time and came in a little bit under budget. He is located in the Sandy Creek area of the lake off of Youngs Ferry Road, Dadeville/Jacksons Gap. You can reach him at 256-496-2145. I highly recommend him. I have used him for the last 5 years and have never had a problem with him or his work.

Thank you all for your replies. I got a few numbers and have made contact with them. If things don't work out I have a few more numbers on here to try out. This is a no hurry situation so that plays in my favor too. Good thing is there are plenty of roofers needing work. Thanks again.

You might want to consider the gauge (thickness) of the roofing. Common around here is 29 gauge, which to me that's too thin. Consider a 26 gauge or even a 24 gauge--not much more money, but a whole lot stronger in a wind, or even when walking on it. BTW some roofers will try to talk you out of it because it's heavier and harder to cut.

I'm getting ready to buy some. In all my years of doing property management I never heard of roof shingle gauges....THANKS!
