For you out of town types, Larry Langford, Mayor of Birmingham was just convicted of 60 felony counts of bribery, etc. Was his conviction, as claimed by his wife, purely a racial issue?
Or is he just a common, democrat, crook politician who got caught?

This was a post that I made on 10/19/09. How true it still is. Langford is only the tip of the iceberg in Birmingham.
"I heard a great summary this AM on the difference between racism and prejudice. Also, during this dissertation it was pointed out that the term racism appears to have lost its meaning of years ago. This is not being helped due to the fact that due to the fact that every time someone disagrees with Obama, its racist.
Racism charges are now rampant and used frequently on subjects such as arrested for DWI and the arrest is because of color and not drinking. Or, anyone who disagrees with Obama is a racist. The fact that there is disagreement of his policies is lost in the clamor.
Prejudice was identified as follows. You are at a ATM and a black dude with a hood over his head, droopy pants, and his cap turned sideways approaches the ATM. The customer at the ATM starts getting edgy.
Conversely, this same person at the ATM is approached by a black man in a suit and carrying a brief case. The approaching person is barely noticed. Yet, both individuals are black.
The term prejudice in this case was due to culture and not color of the skin since both were black.
Racism examples were used when the white guy beat up the female military person and used the N&^%$ and B*&^% terms to address the black lady. Later, it appeared that the white guy might have been a member of the white supremacy group. This was racism.
Also, when the black burned down the Korean stores in NY, this was also racism. The difference was that this was racism on the part of Blacks against Asians.

It's not racism. It's also not because he is a Democrat. Lots of politicians on both sides think that personal gain is a perk of the job.
Looks like the most exclusive menswear stores in B'ham will be going out of business now that the ex-mayor will be going to jail. Wonder if he'll donate his wardrobe?

Suggesting that being convicted of 60 counts is racism shows how desperate and ignorant the wife appears to be. I just fail to understand how the count can get to 60 before he is brought to trial. It is easy to cry racism, and yes it exists, but 60 counts give me a break. A crooked Dem will pay his dues to society, and as a Dem I have no mercy for a crook in either party. A crooked politician is a crook... Dem, Rep, Cons, Lib, Leftist, Socialist, Black or White. They deserve prison time if they take an oath and then take bribes.
I find it funny how when people first run for office, they run to get the crooks out of office so they can come in as the White (Black) Knight. You read so many say let's get them all out and votes new people in. These same people who we want out were the new people a few years ago. Maybe, the Messiah is the answer. One man, one rule!!!!!!!
