I just got a verbal offer on the old Harris pontoon, so look out Maverick! It's time for me to get serious about a tri-toon with a big ol' motor!

Check out this site if you you are serious about a fast pontoon. It sold me on mine. It performs just like their add. Had mine two years, and love it.

Glad you like your Bennington V8, if you have one. Just voicing my opinion based on facts.

I have a ski boat for skiing and wave runners for playing....the pontoon will be for cruising and I want the option to do it fast. No I/O this time around, it will be a 4 stroke outboard or an E-tech. There are several great brands available, so I'm keeping an open mind.... Premier and Bennington are both on the list along with some others.

well you can put e refrigerator on if you want to but you will be behind. if you want to go fast you need a v-8. 25 footer with 496 will do sixty plus. you wont get that with any outboard.

Probably true for "realfast", but something in the 50+ range is fast enough (That will about double the top end of the Harris)....I'm also interested in real quiet.

Anybody out there have an Avalon? I'm looking at one of those that has a 275 Merc Verado.

Friend borrowed a 24 footer with a 496 and said was not bad on gas, handles well and top speed was like 62 mph.

I just wanted the quit enjoyment of the 4 stroke and then not have to worry about winterizing, etc.

I have a 24' Premier with a 250 Yamaha outboard. Not sure how fast it will go but it pegs the MPH @ 55. Very quite at boath ends. There are lots of good pontoons on the market for what ever your needs. Just being on the lake in any kind of boat is a winner. Wish you well.

Which model do you have? One of the boats I've inquired about is a 235 Intrigue. It has a little less HP than I want (200 Honda), but I like some of the options. I'm still not sure if it has the handling package seen in the video.

Jalzc - I had decided I really wanted a Suzuki or E-tec then I thought about it again as nobody or not a lot of folks around the lake to do service work. So decided on a Yamaha, but first choice was a Suzuki.

Also when pricing Bennington, try Brech Marine in Selma they are on the homepage. Family owned and operated - low overheads. Have come to the lake a couple of times for warranty work, nothing major so I told them to stop by next time they were up that way and they showed up within a week or 2. If you call Brech tell them I sent you, as you will be the 3rd customer I have sent their way and the other 2 bought from them and are also storing their toons at their facilities (covered) for the winter and have service and warranty work done.

Another idea is to find a left over model and see if dealer will deal. If Premier you can call Waterscape and then Skier Marine just up from Harpersville on Hwy 280, they had a good looking Premier out front on Friday.

Also if you can wait, shop prices and try to cut a deal at the ATL or BHAM boat shows in about 2 months or so.

We think alike. My primary focus as of now is excess inventory boats from 09' (and a few 08's) with full warranty. I'm also looking at some slightly used boats and demos. It's a great time to be shopping (considering the economy) and there are a lot of choices available. Like you said last winter, I have my checkbook ready if someone wants to deal.

The Crest Pontoon boats are very fine - Check them out with a 300HP Suzuki (6 year warrenty)
Not only a ski tow bar but a wake board tower

Electronic all the way - NO Cables for the throtle & Check out the LCD Dash Very fine

The only thing you hear is the water hitting the pontoons - Very quiet at 50 mph
Not bad on gas if your not going 50 mph

Just curious, is a Premier 235 listed as a 24 foot boat on the registration? does it need a kill switch?

I do not remember. My paper work is at the lake, and yes it comes with a kill switch.

I love my E-tech engine (only 90hp) , but there is no dealer now around the lake who will have the software that you will need to have the every-3-year maintenance done. Might want to think about that. I will haul mine to a Newnan dealer as I go back to Atl on a regular basis.

Thanks Rude...I just found out last week that Reed wasn't doing it anymore. It is an issue, and I hope someone will pick them up. We need to get some folks to e-mail the company.

They were selling the E-tec last year when I bought my pontoon. I ended up with a Yamaha 150, but I was offered the E-tec.

One would not think a big marina like Russell would sell what they could not service. ???

The 31' x 10' custom made Premier with twin 350's (I think) which is at Waterscape for $100k+ and would not have to worry about kill switch and you could have the BGE onboard was well without a problem.

If you have not seen this tritoon it is worth going by Waterscape just to see it as it is like a Living Room on pontoons at approx 300 square feet.

Hey Feb...........was just over at Kowaliga last week and inquired as to whether they would have the software to perform the maintenance, and the answer was..........they're thinking about it, but had not decided qualify yet. Asked when might we know if and when..........the reply was "call us in the spring".

Thanks, Probably a good think I stuck with the Yamaha. It makes you wonder if they are still selling the E-tec. ???
