So today is the big release date. She's been all over the TV -- including on Oprah. We've likely all read exerts and at least heard parts of what she had to say (and the responses from the McCain camp).

So what do you think? Should she have written a book like this?
Will you buy it and read it?

BTW, I read the Levi Johnson interview in Vanity Fair. I'm really surprised that VF would have stooped to that level (they usually have great interviews). He clearly is a young man on a mission (to gain noteriety).

Won't read it, couldn't care less and am still mystified as to why she is still getting so much press. Although I must admit, I do like her, she is simply irrelevant at this point. She's out of politics, for the moment so, let's fill the Fox nightime shows with something a little more relevant. In addition, with all the current coverage, I feel like I have already read the book so, why buy it?

Those on the Right will buy the book. I probably will too when it is on the $.50 cent table. However, she is both irrelevant and incompetent to serve higher office.

you have mis-interpretted my political persuasion. I am somewhat on the right and said I wouldn't buy it. Actually, I am very much on the right. My guess is that those who spend their days watching Soap Operas would be the target market. Regardless, it's already a best seller. Who woulda thunk it?

She has no origin. She did not rise from the GOP or GOanything. She is married to a good ol’ boy who is very comfortable on the outside of their bedroom. She’s a knock-out… that sort of image you’d see taped on the inside of a locker.

I’d like to meet her at a hunt camp… or a café… her choice. She’s the kind of woman to whom I’d LISTEN (you know we testosterone cretins have trouble listening).

She has a defective child, and in him sees the compassion of Christ. From her womb came a message from God. Would you have aborted?

Do you know her sin? It is cutting out the middleman… politics… between the people and the government. She has the code… and, it’s not her DNA… or, for that matter, her chromosomes.

She’s got it! She knows that we, the people, want to reconnect with our American heritage. She is comfortable in hers… she wants to share.

Listen carefully to what she says. If you see a disconnect between the American dream and her platform, please, here expound.

We are desperate for a leader. Are we so desperate that we shall not see that our mother had (has) a face. I care not for the fabric and fit of our leader’s underwear. I just want my leader to lead.

If I get to heaven and God is a woman, I will cry out in relief, “Hi, Mom!”

Interesting how many times I see observations that Palin is of no consequence. Yet 30 minutes of Hardball with the fair and objective journalist, Chris Matthews, she was the focus of the program?? How come???

Not my pick for 2012, yet.. Still kinda like Romney, or a staunch Conservative..

But I strongly relate to Sahra Palins' strong conservative principles... so give her a break, or let's just bash her as a confident, succesful, fullfilled female who wondered into the mean realm of politics.. Whatever...

You are so funny ... it has been at or near the top for several weeks before the release ... that is not just the right buying, no more that the popularity of Fox is just the right. There are either a lot of closet right socialist or the center and left are buying it too.

I am not buying because I don't care one way or the other and most of it is coming out in the news. But I still like the women as do many many many other americans.

Her popularity scares the socialist left. They should be scared ... now they are even having to lie about the few jobs they saved or created ... now it is coming out that over 100,000 have already proven to be false and they only had about 700,000.

This administration is the worst in history ... in over a year they have ZERO accomplishment ... or do you care to list them?

Enjoy your short run ... you had the opportunity and have reminded america what a disaster it is to give the keys to socialists.

As an intelligent individual, you may like her but you can't truly believe she is qualified for higher office. As Richard Cohen wrote, you are one of many Republicans that like Palin cause you believe she will act out your resentments and take an ax to the people and institutions you hate.

She is neither irrelevant and for someone who voted for the Messiah I would not consider you have any credibility in deciding who is or is not competent for higher office. Who will he bow to next? What a hoot......

I think a lot of people are surprised by the kind of book she has written.
I suspect that a lot of people that pre-ordered the book were expecting a serious book, instead of the tell-all that she has written. I don't think the book she has written will further her political career. If she is a serious politician, I think she has missed a golden opportunity.
If she just wanted to make a lot of money quickly, well, I guess she'll do that.

GF, you should be ashamed quoting a hack like Richard Cohen. He accuses us of liking her because she would do exactly what he does every day in his column?!?!? No one hates people because of their political beliefs more than Richard Cohen.....well, there's Paul Krugman....and also Maureen Dowd....oh, I forgot about Helen Thomas and Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman and Paul Begala and James Carville and...and...and...

I actually like her because she is fiscally conservative, believes in the limited role of the federal government and walks the talk on traditional values. You and the rest of the loony left detest her for the very same reasons.

I think her resume and qualifications far exceed the individual that was elected ... but I need to keep reminding you and other socialists that she was not the one running for the top spot ... but she was still better qualified than Obama. She actually ran a state and has accomplishments.

I don't think she would run, but if the socialists were not fearful of her, they would not still be working to destroy her. They would consider her a non event and not waste their time.

She speaks of an america that we all wish we had vs the direction we are going .... and that is what the socialists are fearful will continue to catch on even if she does not run for office.

I have asked you many times ... if you think Obama was so much more qualified, what did he accomplish prior to being president and what has he accomplished since being president. Nothing you can be proud of .... if so please provide a list, I would love to understand your support for an individual who's policies have only been a destruction and a miserable failure.

He is now resorting to lies to justify the wasteful spending of tax payers money because it has not worked.

The "real" unemployment rate is now estimated at 18% or more. Even the published rate they think will hit 12% sometime next year. He has done ZERO to create jobs ... he just wants to keep wasting more money on "government" programs that do not benefit the economy or get people working.

You are missing a golden opportunity to be better informed if you do not buy a copy of the book and read it.

Informed about what? Her excuses why her interview with Katie Couric tanked? Rehashing the clothes? Why she didn't get to make a "consession speech"?
I think she would have been much further ahead had she taken a chapter, gotten all this off her chest, admitted that she botched the Couric interview and then spent the rest of the book cementing her political platform.

I don't think the book she has written will win her any converts.

Serious comment, I'm surprised you have offered an early opinion so quickly........you normally are more reluctant to jump to conclusions, encouraging everyone to wait and see for things to unfold first. Which leads me to think you have made an early purchase and have read the book already.....if so, give us more of a blow by blow........some idea what the tell alls are and what the serious parts are about. Inquiring minds here........

Not that kind of book, from what I understand she put lots of those darn words in it instead of pictures. If you happen to get it, might as well leave it at the house instead of the shop.

NO early read here... it's just been quoted, excerted and she's been interviewed all over the news. I've also heard there is no index, which means most of Washington won't read it.

I didn't plan to order it, but I may change my mind.

I have no idea what Farrah poster you are talking about.... and no, I do not remember the Bo Derek one either.... The only downside with a Palin poster would be the fact that it is so cold in Alaska that her..... never mind.

when she is done with her book tour, her picture in the running shorts will be made into a poster.

Looks like that won't happen til after August 2010........seems like the photographer who took the pic for Runner's World broke his contract by selling the pic to Newsweek without authorization........I guess R/W had it tied up til Aug '10.......

Don't need 'em - depending on who you are observing, the effects would be inversely proportional. Just gauge growth or shrinkage to determine temps.
