We need to let the builder know where we want to place our dawn to dusk light at our water front and want to hear your suggestions for it's placement. We have 168 feet of water front and a concrete seawall.

Why would you want a light that would be on from dawn to dusk?

Some might reply about eight feet under water....... Pardon my attempt at humor....

Mine were about 8 feet under but now ony 2 feet.

Your suggestion is a good one.

You might consider asking your neighbors where a security light could be placed that wouldn't bother them.

consider a low voltage system (12vdc) with low wattage (7w) fixtures mounted at ground level. Directional fixtures that shine away from the water/neighbors, but still illuminate the area you want??

The dawn-to-dusk light at our place is called "the sun."

Now, if you were thinking about a dusk-to-dawn light-- one that would be on when the sun is down-- I like the suggestion about checking with the neighbors to see what will be less intrusive to them.

Maybe a bad choice. Just a joke.

Mine is located on the front of my shop, underneath the eave. This shields the light from shining on my neighbor, but covers my property and boats. Boats are on land in my shed. The light shines parrallel to the shoreline. I also have a switch on the light to be used when we sit on the dock an enjoy star gazing in the dark skies over the lake.

Wanted to make sure burglars did not hurt themselves and sue me.
