I just heard David Brooks on PBS Newshour discussing the events of the last week. Lord, this guy has his head on straight! He is a common sense conservative from whom all the folks on this spectrum from left to right could learn.

I wish I could heard the discussion, but if you heard it on PBS, I'm suspect. I am familiar with David Brooks and would not characterize him as conservative.. Nevertheless, would enjoy hearing what he said, if that's doable??

Here's the difference. I am not going to tell you which loony leftist makes senses and which doesn't, as if a conservative has any place telling you which left winger you should listen to or not. It would be like me telling you Davids Brooks is a liberal writer that I think makes more sense than most leftist writers. What would your response be, eh? You would tell me he is no liberal.

your referencing the post in which I "self described" myself as a liberal. OH!!! It was one of those that I said I was a "moderate" or "independent" which in your infinite wisdom you always inform us less gifted readers that no such political position exists and that all such folk are actually all liberals in denial. Well let me express my opinion that you are a right wing religious and political extremist that would love to turn this country into a theocratic authoritarian police state. Now I really believe this the case but will admit I may be wrong but I don't expect the same from you. Nothing is more dangerous to our freedom than the person who is SURE he is always right!

Explain how I am dangerous to anyone's freedom. I am not a holder of political office, I have no power over anyone. I'm just a regular guy that is socially and fiscally conservative, I love my country, believe in strong national defense and traditional values and eschew the size and intrusiveness of the federal government. My view is that independents who took a hope on change are the biggest threat to our freedom because of their moronic vote for the Messiah. Of course, I can back up that claim with facts (i.e., Obamacare being the most obvious).
As for being a self-described liberal maybe you are right and I have you confused with the other self-described liberals that post here because your views are virtually identical. If that is the case I certainly apologize for using the term "self-described" as you are, as you rightly pointed out above, one of those liberals in hiding. Can't say that I blame you....

You don't have to "admit" you are a liberal to be one. You are the one that likes to attach labels and names to those that don't agree with you.
But you are a liberal based on the policies you seem to support and those that you are against. Although ... the majority of your posts are simply blasting anyone that speaks the truth about the distruction and failed policies of Obama and his administration. Yet you will not come out and say what you feel is working.
So call yourself what you want, but you are clearly a liberal based on what you support and are against (at least what we can see).
You have said how Obama's policies are helping your business, while they are hurting many others. Great for you. You think medicare is great and support a national government plan, while 60% of americans are against. You have defended the $800 billion in wasteful government spending, you have supported the belief of higher taxes on individuals and businesses. While Obama's policies continue to fail and we have higher unemployment you come out and make statements about it is not as bad as it was. No it is not, but it could have been much better and we could have been growing jobs ... proven fact based on history. You have defended Obama's weak national security policies and bowing to other leaders, including Muslim leaders. I could go on.
You are as far left as they come. But I don't blame you for being ashamed to admit it.

You are as big a nutcase as they come and you are proud to show it. I never gave Obama credit for my business being good, I simply stated it was for what ever reason. I have explained on numerous occasions my ideas for healthcare and they don't sound much like what either side is backing at the moment. I have said for the last 16 months Medicare has worked very well for me. I said that the bailout (Designed by a Bush appointee) was a neccessary evil and I believe you will find most economists today agree and will also tell you it worked. I have stated that I supported the stimulus again as a neccessary evil demanded by the circumstances. It has not worked as well or as quickly as forcast but it is also only 30% in place, and has preserved thousands of jobs of school teachers in Ga. alone (what do you have against teachers WW?). I don't believe I ever claimed I wanted to raise taxes, but I will say that cutting taxes to encourage job creating investment in a time when people are afraid to spend money on the products and services which the investments create doesn't make a lot of sense.

PS: I don't recall discussing Obama's bowing to foreign leaders but don't see how following protocol or showing respect to local tradition is a sign of weakness. At least he didn't kiss the Emperor on both cheeks and hold hands with him.

with the name calling ... a VERY liberal tactic. I don't blame you for being ashamed. The democrat party is falling apart ... even pelosi is turning on obama and laughing at his lies. Others are jumping ship because the see the hand writing on the wall.
As for more wasteful government spending, a very liberal/socialist approach that has NEVER worked ... vs tax cuts that have ALWAYS worked ... well the FACTS speak for themselves.
