Yankee, Gotta love the search function on the forum! While I am neither a Bama or Horns fan I thought Alabama was going to win based on what they did to the Gators in the SEC championship game. Having said that, I think the score did not reflect how close the game really was and my gut tells me if McCoy doesn't go out early Texas would have won. But that is pure conjecture so congrats to the Alabama fans!

Sadly I went to the Orange Bowl to watch Tech muddle along to a loss. That game was entirely different, the score didn't reflect how much Iowa dominated Tech. They controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and really stifled the option offense.

Congrats to Bama from an Aubie. They deserved it. Regardless of whether or not Colt plays, except for a brief period, Bama was the dominant team. I truly believe if Texas played in the SEC, they would have lost 3 or 4 games. Just my humble opinion.

Was really a tough break that McCoy went out at the beginning of the game. After getting Texas to that point to not be able to help his team and just watch...what a heartbreaker for him. I think even WITH McCoy in there, Alabama still wins it. Too much talent and athleticism with Ingram, Richardson, et al.

Good game. Congratulations to Alabama on a perfect season plus the Heisman winner. !!

The way the game started I thought I was going to be right. But just like the Auburn game, the Tide pulled it together. As much as I am an Auburn fan, I am happy for them ... just look forward to kicking their butt in next years Iron Bowl ... enjoy it now. :)

You know that in all probability... Somewhere last night, in a broken-down trailer, with no running water and Budweiser cans littering the living room and a 1962 VW on blocks in the front yard a child was conceived and shall bear the name Saban Tyde for the rest of his/her life!! You'll see him/her as a ward of the state in a few years.

Makes you shudder, doesn't it?

was a good victory; hated to see McCoy go down as I wanted to see how Bama reacted to his style of play; one thing though--these BAMA boys had passion & wanted that game--passion disappeared when Ray Perkins took; we may not win them all, but as Bear tolsd me when I was there-: "son, play with all your heart for 60 minutes--you dont want to embarass your Momma --or me"
