How many on this forum would use a teleprompter when talking with a 6th grade class. My answer would be a big "ZERO". What does this say about the person who would do this?

Well, our illustrious President Obama recently did this when talking to a group of 6th graders. This, to me, gives the appearance of being artificial. This was another performance where the President does not feel comfortable speaking extemporaneously. Why?

Does he not understand subject materials 6th graders would be interested in? My answer is that his understanding of 6th graders is no different than his understanding of the American Public.

He was just trying to be very Presidential and not screw up like Bush did when he visited an elementary class.

1. Bush is not president any longer (unfortunately)
2. Whether he misspoke or not, he is genuine
3. What an ego Obama has that he needs a teleprompter to "act" presidential. The is the point ... it is an act. He is a phoney that can not be trusted or believed, never takes responsibility and looks for someone to blame for his miserable failures.

is how may times he said "Let me be clear" and "Make no mistake". How telling that the guy uses a teleprompter to speak to a bunch of kids. How sad that this guy was elected........

According to your much vaunted snopes that photo was bogus. GF, GF, GF....I can't believe you fell for that one. So naive.... I looked at snopes and so far nothing about the Messiah reading from a teleprompter during breakfast with the kids but it is probably coming. So funny.....

I can't believe that you, a Premium Wing Nut, would actually check and believe a looney leftist socialistic web site like Snopes. As they say, you've come along way baby.

Cheers.

Since you seem to place so much stock in snopes I decided out of morbid curiosity to check it out. I assumed you would never try to pass off a fabrication as being true (otherwise we would need to change your name to Dan Rather or pick any one of the hundreds of staff writers at the NY Times) since you are so quick to try to debunk things you don't like. Lo and behold, it appears you only check out snopes when it is indeed something you don't like......as for me I place limited confidence in snopes.

Isn't it curious that if you were intellectually honest you actually have to now debunk your own post while I remain open to the idea that he actually held the book upside down long enough to be photographed. But according to your own standards, your post was indeed a fabrication.......

The teleprompter was not used with the kids. It was there for the press conference after the meeting with the kids.

"The conservative blogosphere is buzzing this morning about news that President Obama relied on a teleprompter for his remarks to students at the Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Virginia. And it would surely be funny if he had. But it doesn't appear that he did.

Obama held two separate sessions at the school -- the first with students and a second for the media. And while he did use two teleprompters for his comments to the media he did not use them for his discussion with the students.

The White House website offers this picture of Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan talking to 6th graders from the school. No teleprompters in sight.

The caption on this AP photo reads: "President Barack Obama points to the media, as he enters to speak, after a discussion with 6th grade students at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010."

And the beginning of the video posted on the White House website shows that there are no kids between Obama and the news media during the remarks he makes using the teleprompters.

The White House confirmed to TWS that the teleprompters were used for his remarks to the press, not with students."

If the media was not allowed access to the room with the students and Obama, why were they (the media) there? Seems to me he could have issued a press release and left TOTUS at home! Surely makes for a ridiculous looking setting regardless of who was being addressed.

Needing a teleprompter to get through a speech to 6th graders or to get through a press conference? About six of one and half a dozen of the other to me. So who is the 'man behind the curtain' that feeds him his answers during these 'pressers'?
