In the United States, impeachment can occur both at the federal and state level. The Constitution defines impeachment at the federal level and limits impeachment to "The President, Vice President, and all civil officers of the United States" who may only be impeached and removed for "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors".

Would some of the forum members care to comment on civil officers Rahm Emanuel, Eric Holder, and others in the Obama administration who may be borderline on high crimes and misdemeanors. Could treason also be considered for Eric Holder? Also, feel free to comment on Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi. Might be interesting for them also.

During the latter years of his presidency, George Bush was frequently mentioned as a candidate for impeachment by some of the current Democratic members of congress. Does anyone remember the individuals who brought up the charges and the specifics of some of these charges?

Don't see what impeachment accomplishes, except a waste of time that could be spent on the real issues facing the country.

I think your efforts would be better spent on helping the GOP try to find a candidate that they could actually win with, in 2012. Thus far, I don't see one. I realize there are a few posers, but the truth is they all have a lot of baggage. They need someone fresh.

Have to agree with Hound. The actions of the group in charge now speaks volumes and they will reap their own harvest (defeat).

The voters in Mass. proved that American voters are not a bunch of lemmings (sp?). Maybe there is real hope after all, not the empty promises of hope that were foisted upon us in '08. Fortunately for Obama, but unfortunately for America, that was the perfect political storm.

Rahm Emanuel said, never waste a good crisis - but apparently in their greed, arrogance, and ignoring those who elected them, they indeed did just that.

Leave it be. Find something positive. America weeps for it.

What we hear about impeachment is really political posturing. To qualify for impeachment you need a serious act like Nixon and Watergate. Clinton lied and deserved to be brought up. Nothing close has occurred since then.
