There is no need to add as it says it all.

"WASHINGTON - GOP Chairman Michael Steele thinks Republicans have "screwed up" for the most part in the years since Ronald Reagan was president. And, he adds in an interview on the heels of his new book's release, Republicans won't win back the House in fall elections and might not be ready to lead even if they do."

Sounds to me like Steele is "smoking pot" and may be promoting his new book.

We do not have the brightest people in this administration now based on some of the decisions that have been made (terrorist trials to NY city; prosecuting our navy seals: destroying vehicles that could be used by the poor via cash for clunkers: health care mess; cap and trade legislation; etc.).

I think that America is ready for new leadership. Carrying the tag Democrat or Republican will get no one elected in November. We want to know how they will govern if elected. Candidates will be required to have good hearing because we want to be heard.

This quote came from the Czech Republic. Someone has it all
figured out. It's sad that most of the people of the US don't.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry
capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr.
Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.

The republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all,
merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

The LA Times great quote of the week
And this from a very left wing newspaper, the LA Times. I guess the honeymoon is over.

"Frankly, I don't know what it is about California, but we seem to have a strange urge to elect really obnoxious women to high office. I'm not bragging, you understand, but no other state even comes close.

When it comes to sending left-wing dingbats to Washington, we're
number one. There's no getting around the fact that the last time
anyone saw the likes of Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein and Nancy
Pelosi, they were stirring a cauldron when the curtain went up on
'Macbeth'.

The three of them are like jackas^%$ who happen to possess the gift of speech. You don't know if you should condemn them for their stupidity or simply marvel at their ability to form words."

I would agree with the first two comments but if he really believes the third he should have the decency to resign his post as chair of the RNC because that's not leadership. There are a number of Congressman that would be a great leader of the House and Majority Whips. Tom Price, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan and many more. True conservatives that understand what makes this country great and what makes it work....and it isn't government.

As for taking control of Congress in 2010, it would be a monumental feat since there are 257 Dems and 178 Republicans. It would require Dems to lose 40 seats and republicans to lose none. Most prognosticators are projecting 20 to 30 seat losses for Dems. Its not that it could not be done but it would be incredibly difficult. Probably the only hope for that would be if the Dem leadership actually uses reconciliation to pass Obamacare. It's just not worth the damage to the country.

Look who disagrees with ya!!!!!!!!!

Jay Leno: "Elizabeth Edwards announced that she and John have separated. So, it looks like it's not just Nancy Pelosi that's going to lose the House this year."

Cheers.

I guess that settles it, I am heading to intrade.com and get my money down. Interestingly, intrade question "The Democrats to control the House of Representatives after 2010 Congressional Elections" has gone from around 85 in early 2009 to 59 today and seems to be dropping steadily. Still won't believe it until I see it.
