He who is without sin let him cast the first stone ! What say you. From the office of the President right down to you and me .....we should all be careful how we judge others.

That's why I asked. I'm interested in responses from other posters. For me, he owes me nothing. As disgusted as I am about his infidelity, I still am a big believer in second chances. He owes apologies and request for forgiveness to his family and his ultimate higher being, period. And this is coming from a guy who never really liked Tiger anyway. Just my opinion. I'm interested in others opinions.

I watched Tiger this am . He made no excuses and denied nothing.I felt that he took responsibility for his actions. More than I can say for those who hold themselves above reproach .As he said his words will not earn his forgivness...only his actions. I wish him well.

I always liked Tiger as a golfer, ...and I always liked teh person he presented himself to be to the public. I really felt bad, kind of cheated, when it became known what kind of person he really was.
-having said that, I'm sure I'll still enjoy him as a golfer
-I thought his apology was too staged, but that just goes to show how insulated these celebrities become. they lose touch with a common sense way of doing things.
-But hey, he doesn't have to apologize to me. He just has to get "it" right with his family and himsel, whatever 'it" ends up being.
--Bottom line:
-1) when does he tee up?
-2)I'm also amazed that I can still be fooled by so many people; I'm even more amazed that I'll probably still be fooled by so many more.

Apology and embarrassment is for his family alone and maybe for his sponsers. Otherwise it is or should not be a public issue. I don't really feel this way with politicians . I feel it is a character flaw. If the family means so little to them and the family can't trust them, the public can't trust them with decisions for us.

I read Tiger's statement, and then I watched the film of him making his statement without any sound. It seemed pretty clear to me that I was watching an individual that was humiliated at having to make a public statement. I have no idea if he is really sorry or if he is just sorry he got caught.
At least he didn't try to deny it or blame someone else for his problems.

In the case of Tiger, I think he has been punished enough. It's time to take him out of the public spotlight and let him get on with his therapy. His infidelity is between him and his wife from this point on; he and his family need to be given the privacy to do whatever they are going to do. The media is wrong to harass his family or to put his children in danger but publicizing where they play or go to school.

The only appropriate public question is when he'll return to playing golf.

The lesson here is that no matter how great you may think you are, everything can turn against you in a heartbeat. In the end, the only things you have are your family and your good name.

Tiger hasn't done anything that millions of Spouses worldwide are not doing every day. The difference is the Media.
The Media will do anything, absolutely anything, to sell their product to an audience which will buy it. And, we buy it big time. Does not matter the damage they cause.
Suppose Brett Favre, or Drew Brees, Barbara Boxter, or Nancy Pelosi,,, Nah, scratch Nancy,,,,, was caught by the spouse in an affair, and did NOT chase the culprit down with a 5-iron at an auto crash, and cause a Police report?? Page 6 of the NYT, end of story.
Tiger messed up. The Sleasy/Slime media found it and will ride that pony until it drops.
He is still the best Golfer this country has ever seen.

... he's the best golfer the world has ever seen.

This culture of celebrity worship that has been created is one of the biggest problems with today's society IMHO. More folks can tell you who was featured on Entertainment Tonight and TMZ than can name the folks that they pay to represent their interest in government.

I frankly wasn't interested in his public apology and won't watch it or read it. He plays golf well, probably better than anyone in history. He is also a self-absorbed narcissist and serial adulterer in ways that went beyond mere human weakness. The numerous women he cavorted with could have exposed him to STD's which he could have passed onto his wife and potentially his children. One of them became pregnant and had an abortion.

Yes it happens all the time but whether he is your next door neighbor or your brother or a celebrity I believe in both forgiveness and consequences. If he is truly contrite he should be forgiven but that doesn't mean he won't live with the humiliation for the rest of his life as he should. And if he loses lots of fans like he has lost me so be it, that is the consequence of his irresponsible behavior. So I will still admire his skill at golf but I won't be a fan of Tiger Woods.
