leaky roof might be gas log condensation

Do you have gas logs in the fireplace? My parents went through a similar problem and I Googled it and found that gas logs cause condensation and makes you think the chimney is leaking. Check it out for your self. Good Luck! By the way, give Dean Construction a call to check out the roof. They just put one on our new house they are building.

Right you are about the gas logs. This is especially true if the "chimney" is not fire brick or stone but instead, has a a metal gas vent which has a faux veneer finish.
Gas water heaters in attic spaces cause some worry also due to condensation giving the appearance of a leaking water heater or roof.
