and why we laugh with derision anytime a lefty wing nut claims the government media isn't biased. Is it any wonder the NY Times announces layoffs every other week?

Speaking of the abdication and overt bias of the government media, they seem to be ignoring very credible evidence that someone in the White House (probably Rahm Emmanual) violated Federal law when they offered a government job to Congressman Joe Sestak to get him to not run against Arlen Defector in the Pennsylvania primary. It is a criminal act to offer someone a government job in order to get them to not run for public office. And who made this claim you ask? A right wing nut? A tea party activist? Judicial Watch? or worse yet Fox News? No, it was Congressman Sestak himself in a television interview. He should probably hire armed security guards because we know the Chicago way of dealing with rats......or maybe he will suddenly be accused of groping male employees after having that information for months.....

He may get health reform without a vote. The House may try to pass the Senate health-care bill without voting on it.

Is this the Slaughter approach? As I understand their rationale, they believe they have already taken the hit for Obamacare and have nothing to more lose in November. I think they are misjudging the anger of the American people if they push this through using some procedural shenanigans. The fact is if this were good for America they would have no problem getting it passed. The more Americans learn about it and the more Obama talks about the lower the support.

BTW, what about the criminal act of someone in the WH over running against Specter? After 8 years and numerous investigations of the Bush WH, I would think your sense of moral indignation would cause you to demand a full investigation. Is there possibly a double standard?

It is interesting that Sestak made the statement but dances around the issue of who made the offer. This is ripe for an investigation that both parties should support. It the allegation is true, the culprit should be prosecuted.
It doesn't matter who I voted for but, rather, what is right. Period.

…that this smear business has been going on since… at least Richard Nixon... probably Lyndon Johnson… who knows before that time.

If you or I run for office, the opposite party immediately says, “Who is this guy (gal)?” They begin building a dossier. From that point on the file is kept. If you get too far ahead in an election… I believe the term is “Swift Boated.” If you step out of line while in office, the dossier is opened and the scum is leaked.

If you are squeaky clean, then they begin filing ethics complaints (al la Gov Palin). It makes no difference if you are guilty or not – you and your staff are tied up defending yourself. Sometimes, it’s the taxpayers that pay the legal fees. Sometimes not… as in Gov Palin’s case.

Dirty tricks are getting in the way of clean government. NOBODY has an empty closet. If you did, you’d have not enough aggression or experience to run for office. Fighter pilots have a reputation for promiscuity. But, that doesn’t affect their desire to dominate the sky.
