Used to camp a lot and always enjoyed a camp fire. Been thinking about a fire pit at the lake. Just curious - do those of you who have them really use them?

Kids use the firepit all the time (marshmallows and hot dogs) and great for throwing yard debris (limbs, etc) in and burning.

Adults rarely use the firepit as we do not like smelling like smoke.

Now my neighbor has a chiminea and it is great when you have a party outside, to try to stay warm. Plus smoke not as much of an issue.

My husband collected pretty rocks and put in a propane firepit with gas logs. We love it. A beautiful place to watch the sunset and have a drink.

We have a small portable one and we love it. Good way to burn all the limbs that fall too.

We've had a footed fire pit for several years, our whole family enjoys it all year long. A guy on Coosa Co. 2 sells large bags of small wood pieces that are the perfect fuel.

We have had a fire pit for over 6 years and we LOVE it. We built it with rocks that we bought from Floyd's and use it almost every weekend--even in the summers. We especially love it during football season because we all sit around it and watch the football games ( we bring a TV outside). It's a great way to have fun with our neighbors.

Almost every one in our neighborhood has one and we spend LOTS of time around them. Mostly for pickin' and grinnin' but sometimes for football too. You won't regret building one, all it takes is a circle of rocks.
