I am looking for a recommendation for the best public ramp to the lake, approaching from the south-east; clean rest room, safe parking, good ramp, etc. Thanks.

I don't think any of the ramps in that direction will have bathrooms. The first two that come to mind are Anchor Bay and Kowliga, both are full service marinas. Anchor Bay has a store and a restaurant at the ramp so you have access to the restrooms but it is not a typical public restroom. Kowliga is the same way...both a restaurant and marina for bathrooms but the ramp is a little drive from there, on the other side of the lake bridge. So you would have to stop before you went to launch...a little to far to walk. Kowliga ramp has plenty of parking, plenty of depth, and is in great shape. Anchor bay has 0 parking, but plenty of depth and is in great shape as well. Hope this helps.

Read, boy, read. He said South EAST, not west. Ramps on the Southeast do not have bathrooms, but they are boat ramps, tinkle in the trees. Try Union Ramp off Highway 50, or the Blue Creek Ramp on County Road 34.

Oh that Southeast. :-)

Maxwell/Gunter Rec Area, off hwy 34, if you have access to it.

There is nothing southeast about the Hwy 34 ramp on Lake Martin. I guess if your coming in from Atl. that side of the lake would be the first you come to but Hwy 34 is not South. Maybe south of Wind creek but not the first you come to. I am pretty sure the fella or lady can pull up the map of Lake Martin and use the mentioned locations to decide which is the best. Geez talk about picky. Just trying to help them out and Kowliga and Anchor Bay are on the South side.

Thanks again, everyone. The bathroom request was on behalf of my wife (no tree tinkling). We are coming from Columbus; visited the lake for the first time last year for Aquapalooza and loved it. Martin is a nice upgrade from our home lake, Harding.
