I'm sure that Poland would be glad to have a big Swastika near the death camp at Auschwitz; Israel would be glad to feature a similar Nazi symbol near the Holocaust Museum; Simon Wiesenthal would be glad to honor Adolph Eichmann for his contributions to Jewish Culture; the Cemetery in Normandy where America's dead is buried would accept a Nazi Symbol near the entrance; and Pearl Harbor would be glad to have a museum dedicated to the Japanese fliers who bombed Pear Harbor. This Mosques at the former WTC site should be opposed by everyone in America. Build it someplace else in the city.
Who's putting up the $100M?
NEW YORK (AP) - A 13-story mosque is planned near the World Trade Center site, in a building that was damaged by airplane debris on Sept. 11, 2001.
A Lower Manhattan community board said Wednesday that it supported the $100 million mosque and cultural center. The project is aimed at creating a space for the neighborhood's growing Muslim population.
Supporters say the history associated with the damaged former department store was one reason to pick it.
But some 9/11 victims' families said they were offended by the idea.
Massapequa resident Rosemary Cain called the plan "despicable." She lost a son on 9/11.
The American Society for Muslim Advancement and the Cordoba Initiative said the project would help to improve relations between the West and Muslims.

Just another example of how radical Islam is at war with the west and is boldly slapping America in the face. If Bloomberg lets this happen he should be recalled from office. Can you imagine Ed Koch or Rudy letting that happen? They would have said "He!! no!!

Some radical Muslim cleric will probably designate it as "sacred ground" where they killed the infidels and showed the US who was boss.

I think that the Administration is trying to publicly dispel the notion that we are at war with "Islam". It's going to take a lot more than avoiding confrontational language to change that perception. I'm not sure it is worth the effort, because in a sense we are in a war against Islam.

-I hadn't seen this posting of yours on Holder before I posted mine above. I wanted to put this clip in my post, ... but couldn't get'er done!! Obviously, you're more computer literate than I am.
-But it is sad to watch this administration go to such politically correct extremes to avoid ticking off all Muslims.
-Look, no reasonable person believes all one billion moslims are out to get us. But it's pretty obvious to most resonable people that some radical muslims are out to get us. Let's at least talk about it. Such talk will perhaps get the general muslim communities to get these crazies under control, ..get them out of our neighborhood mosques.
-I liken this situation to that of teh Irish neighborhoods I grew up in. No one was an Irish terrorist, but everyone in the bars put money in teh jars for the IRA. ..and most Irish catholics felt a little bit better when they heard some "justice" was delivered to the protestants. It took a strong effort by Irish community leaders in Boston etc in teh 1980's to get that mindset changed. The Moslim communities need to do the same thiing.
-It should start with our Attorney General letting everyone know who our eneny is. If your an American citizen, your enemy is teh violent radical islamic movement, clear and simple Mr. Attorney General!
