Anybody interested in an apparatus to clean pontoons (including tri-toons) that I've designed? More than likely, it will require a marina cleaning the toons coming out of storage and the rest of the cleaning would be during warmer temps. It's a 2 person operation and has a novel idea that is the important part. My pontoon MPH goes from 28 MPH when it has algae on it to 37 MPH after the process. Should be at least a 30% savings on gas. What say? I've got the idea, you got the bucks?

If you really think it is a new and novel idea ... call an IP attorney to discuss before showing or sharing with anyone. If you can get a patent, it will protect your rights and they can advise you about a provisional application that will not cost very much. If you show people before doing this, you will lose a lot of your rights if someone takes your idea and runs with it.

Sounds very interesting.

Thanks. Working on a patent pending through Legal Zoom. Hope it works out. Thanks again.

You cannot patent "an idea" you need a process or an item.

Let's see. Alumabright, 5 gal bucket of water for mixing, brush to apply, hose to wash off. Is any of that stuff patentable?

It works for me and only takes about 30 minutes to make toons shine like new.

I realize this about patenting. The idea is what makes it special.

(my bad) I didn't mention that this is an in-water cleaning device. Most folks on Martin don't have a trailer and this doesn't involve a chemical.
I have had a new revelation and actual design may change slightly. The original will work, but a better one, based on a simple "mock up" could be better when I make the adjustment.
