Looks like the boat law has faded into the Lake Martin Sunset.
Several Big boats by definition to the 26'11 capable of exceeding 60 no longer an issue. Seen lots this weekend. Awesome sound, really loud, but not going over the "speed limit". Also now that the enforcement is history, I'm bringing my 36' to the lake so I don't have to wipe BP oil off the hull at the coast. It will be great for the local economy burning all that gas too. Great News!

In 2008 you hated real loud boats and wanted them banned. Now they have an awesome sound. What changed?

I certainly agree with boat size and I hate to see the big boats cruise by at 20 and their wake wash out my seawall. I especially hate the real loud boats regardless of speed and size. Don't like them and they should be banned too. But to get an intelligent answer sometimes on this forum is almost impossible with one exception in this case so far.

Actually Ulysses the girls ranch did not get a waiver they thought they did and when such was posted on Tue forum Capt brooks stated not school waiver was being granted. Think such waver should be granted for charitable events if the organizer wisues to file the appropriate paperwork and the boaters followed the speed limit rules etc. As I think the entry fee was like $500 which is way to rich for me, even though it is a good cause.

I saw it posted that the waver was granted and didn't see anything else...maybe some big boat owners thought they were wavered? There were definitely more big boats running around this weekend and I just attributed such to the poker run.

Message to Gone Fishing...

You are a good detective.
Lets just say I didn't own the big boat in 2008, BP didn't screw up in 2008, and I can't hear as well as I could in 2008.

Have a great day.

Broke, I know for a fact the " big boat " issue has not faded. I talked to Capt. Brooks as he was checking a boat that was grandfathered in so they could get the permit to run on the lake. I have no dog in this hunt but just letting you know whats going on.

URL: apt. Brooks myself as he inspected a boat that was granfathered in
