I have some a damaged spot on the front of my Waverunner. It was damaged and repaired but not sanded correctly and is rough to the touch. What do I need to do after I sand it down smooth to get it to have a shiny smooth gel coat look like the rest of the hull.

Take it to Heather at Spookeay Marine...she fixed the fiberglass on my waverunners and they look like new.

I have a Waverunner that a friend drove into a railroad tie seawall. The front got busted and it was repaired about 5 years ago. In the second summer after repair, the repaired failed while the ski was being driven onto a roller jet dock.
It was repaired again by a different party two years ago and the repair has once again failed, first time out this year.
Since the repair is located where it hits the roller on the jet dock, can it be repaired so that it won't fail in normal use?

Heather,
I have installed a heavy duty bumper on a 2006 waverunner. I have not put pictures on my ad yet but I could put them on it if you are interested. Cole BoatWorks @ www.lakejordan.info

If the repair is done right it should become chemically one solid contentious surface. That is the magic of fiberglass. If you could X-ray it unlike a weld, you would not be able to see any kind of discrepancy in the product done properly. It may be the repairs did not fan and feather out far enough to get proper surface strength. something like the keel at the bow takes more force than any other part of the hull. for a 4" long crack you could need to fan out about 12" away from that area and begin rebuilding the damage.
I could take a look at it for you but if it's been worked on that many times you may want to put a new hull under it. But lets look and see first.

Can you look at it next time you are at the lake, or do I need to bring it to the shop?

I should be able to look at it when I am at the lake. If not this weekend, surly next. Also take a look at that Sailboat I was to have looked at last fall and just never got to it.....
Your on mallard point right?
