A school supervisor in Milwaukee does not think so ... that is why she feels Milwaukee should boycott doing business with Arizona.   Are there any intelligent liberals?   Why do that have to demonstrate their ignorance.

I think this reflects more about an ignorance of geography than it does anything about Liberals vs. Republicans. Haven't you ever heard about those quizzes where they ask people to place the state in the right place? The majority of people fail. I don't think they even teach geography in schools anymore.

COURIC: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that? PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land-- boundary that we have with-- Canada. It-- it's funny that a comment like that was-- kind of made to-- cari-- I don't know, you know? Reporters-- COURIC: Mock? PALIN: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah. COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials. PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia-- COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians? PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.

I understand from my source that he was referring to the Mexican states he plans to annex by Executive Order so the illegals will have a permanent home and Conservatives can still enjoy cheap landscapers and maids for their McMansions.

I'm sure Pelosi and Reid have let their yards go to seed because of their deep felt concern over the plight of the Mexicans........Apparently Mexicans are the only culture in the Northern hemisphere with a grasp of horticulture (at least that is what Democrats have stereotyped their existence as......)

I agree with you. But, would you agree that it is embarrassing for a school supervisor being taking a stand that the city should boycott AZ because it does not even border Mexico? She even said she may think differently if it did like Texas. The whole AZ thing has turned in to a political thing when it does not impact any other state. Why would a Milwaukee school board even care, let alone hold hearings about it?

Your guess is as good as mine. No idea at all. Maybe they are afraid it will prove so effective that other states will adopt it too.

"The Milwaukee County Board is joining the City of Milwaukee in proposing a boycott of doing business with Arizona companies in light of a new law there that allows law enforcement to ask people stopped for other reasons for proof of their citizenship. The law has drawn protests from Hispanic and civil rights groups across the country, which argue that the law amounts to legalized racial profiling."

GF:

Please explain to me how it is racial profiling when the majority of Americans are Caucasian and the majority of the illegals are also Caucasian.

Why do you just put a quote on a post .... are you agreeing with the position?  If so say so ... and why not say why.   Or is it just your style to think others have not read why they were boycotting?   You are a very strange dude.

The law does not say they will stop anyone randomly .... it says if you are stopped, ie: speeding, dui, other crimes, etc ... they have the right to ask for proof of citizenship.   I challenge anyone to say how that is a violation of any right.  There is a problem with illegals ... if you don't like it leave the state ... otherwise it is the state law so be sure you carry proof like you have to do in europe and every other country.   No different than having to carry a DL if you drive or an insurance card.   If there is nothing to hide, what is the problem?   If you are from Mexico and are here legally, they should be proud to carry that proof.   If I am in Italy and they ask for my passport, is that racial profiling?

Another distraction for Obama rather than focus on issues that do matter or making sure the feds are doing their job so the states do not have to enact laws to protect themselves.

Profiling is a tool of law enforcement.  "Racial" profiling is a term used by liberals and the ACLU (one in the same).

The following are examples of "racial" profiling:

  • caucasian male, 5' -8", 160 lbs.brown hair, beard, blue eyes
  • oriental female, 4' -10, 102 lbs, black hair, brown eyes
  • black female, 5' 4", 155 lbs, black hair, brown eyes
  • hispanic male, 5' - 6", 175 lbs, black hair, brown eyes
  • caucasion female, 5’ – 2”, 105 lbs, black hair, green eyes

If they are suspected of entering the country illegally, then they have committed a crime.  And, ANY of those listed above could certainly be here illegally.

If Hispanics have a problem with "racial" profiling, then their argument is with their illegal brothers and sisters... not the police or the State of Arizona.

Illegals do NOT have any rights, except to be deported.  They do not have a right to education at my expense.  They do not have a right to medical care at my expense.  They do not have a right to ANY social services at my expense.  Their children do not have a right to citizenship in my country occasioned by the illegal presence of one or more of their parents.  They DO NOT have the right to demand that I accommodate their language in the course of commerce or services.

On the other hand, I welcome LEGAL immigrants with open arms.  We need them.  Our own scion, for the most part, have elected to avoid the arduous disciplines in college.  We need young industrious, technically proficient professionals in math, science, engineering, and medicine.

Profiling?  Yes, we can’t start doing it soon enough.

Darn, you let GF off the hook.  That's OK he wouldn't have answered anyway because he knows it isn't possible that it is RACIAL profiling.....

WW, you asked Hound "Why would a Milwaukee school board even care, let alone hold hearings about it?" All I did DUDE was respond in " " the reason that was given. It obviously wasn't my reason. You need to read what I post rather than assume so much. I responded to rudie that I don't care what GA does or any other state if it is Constitutional. When my state decides to pass a law, I will decide if I think it is Constitutional and then support it if it is. I do feel the need to ask everyone who is stopped to show proof of citizenship. WW, now you say "Or is it just your style to think others have not read why they were boycotting? " If you knew the reason, then why did you ask the question? You pontificate and say nothing. Hey Hodgie, are you suggesting you can't tell a Mexican from us Rednecks since they are all caucasian? You guys ever ask the low bidder on a contract for your home to show proof the labors are all legal or are you just motivated by price?
