What additional justification is necessary to bring illegal immigration under control? How many lawsuits will be filed against Arizona and other states?

The cost of harboring illegal immigrants in the United States is a staggering $113 billion a year -- an average of $1,117 for every "native-headed" household in America -- according to a study conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

The study, a copy of which was provided to FoxNews.com, "is the first and most detailed look at the costs of illegal immigration ever done," says Bob Dane, director at FAIR, a conservative organization that seeks to end almost all immigration to the U.S.

I'm still trying to figure out the legal issue for the federal government suing AZ. Is it just the jurisdictional issue? I hope AZ wins this one. I support what they are doing.

That's a very good question. This lawsuit seems very ill advised and is probably only intended to pander to Hispanic voters. First, the law has not even been implemented so there is no damage. Second, the law mirrors almost word for word existing federal law and finally, the Supreme Court has already ruled in favor of states having comparable laws to federal laws and that case was related to immigration. They will lose but winning is not the objective....

The fact is this is a bald-faced political maneuver versus anything substantive from a legal standpoint. There has never been a more politicized Justice Department in our history and the government media ignores it as the administration not only anticipates but expects from the dinosaur media.

i agree with az as well. the basis of the feds suit is that it is the feds responsibility to protect the borders and lmmigration and az actions interfere with that. i diagree but that is what they will try to argue. it will be a landmark case. look for obama to issue an executive order until the case gets to the supreme court try to rewrite or interpret the constitution himself.

It would be interesting if some one would enter articles of impeachment against Oboma for his clear failure to carry out the duties so clearly outlined in the onctitution, that he swore to up hold, to secure our borders. The same could have been done to Bush also but wasn't. At least this would keep him busy and reduce his other nefarious programs.
