Subject:	BoatUS.com Insurance / Claims

Anyone had any experiences with BoatUS Insurance, as being quoted about 1/2 of current annual premium and same coverage. Had boats insured for 20+ years and have never once had to file a claim (knock on wood), but to me as just as important as the annual premium is the claims service. So has anyone ever filed a claim with BoatUS, if so were the results positive? Thanks !!!!

BoatUS was cheaper on the new boat, however once I began adding the older boat and PWCs their quote was actually $250 more per year than Progressive. Plus BoatUS would not allow you to state the insured value, they would only insure for book value, which adjusts annually based on national averages and have to say my boats are babied and national book values are a lot lower than what I believe would be the replacement cost, based on number of hours on the boats.

I think Progressive is the market maker for PWC's. But I put the Pontoon with Allstate. IS there a website that will figure this out?

Just to keep you from continuing this conversation on your lonesome (LOL) I also have Progressive, but I have no idea how good or bad they are with claims. Thank goodness, like you, I have not had to find out. I will say my boats are not babied. You can come look at the spider webs and bird droppings. Although, they are in a boat house and they are well maintained. Now when do you and "Gill" want to run your boats against my Nitro 250 HP bass boat. I have not been able to catch a single fish while trolling at 80 MPH.

My .02 worth about Progressive. >> We do many Progressive Insurance claims here at Cathouse Marine. Normally, we get the same rep/adjuster everytime. They pay close attention to getting the repair done right, and prompt. They do not cut corners. They pay us to inspect other repairs as well. (customer complaints from outsource). Also, we have contracted many many times through our other company, Xtreme Marine Services, LLC. for recovery operations and salvage, along with transport and hazardous spills from sunkin' vessels with Progressive. Not one time in our business dealings with Progressive insurance have we had any issue what so ever. My Opinion. Class act hands down. But remember, i don't have Progressive Insurance, we are merely a Marine Contractor for them. Steve
