Highest in 9 months.......OCarter just does not get it and never will.  I will repeat the irony that if the GOP takes control of Congress in November it may actually save the man-child (and the rest of us for that matter) from utter ruin.  They will do what is really needed to stimulate the economy and we will begin to recover.  Irony of ironies.......

I think the republicans are missing out on a fantastic opportunity to present a unified recovery a plan to America - one to which all party members presently in Congress would sign up to as well as Republicans (and Tea Partiers) seeking election to Congress.  If they were to do that (sort of like Gingrich's Contract With America) their taking over both houses would be a slam dunk.

Problem is I haven't seen any indication that they are that organized, focused, and motivated.

MH:  I would strongly encourage you to look at Paul Ryan's plan for America's recovery.  It is gaining more traction especially after having called out Paul Krugman on his lies and distortions about the plan causing Krugman to retreat into hiding (and I mean that literally).  Do a google seach for his respectful smack down of the wildly overrated political hack Krugman as it is priceless.

Go the website below and please check it out.  I have read it and it makes perfect sense to me, adheres to conservative principals and would work if fully implemented.  No doubt there are some sacred cows in there but it is bold, refreshing and most Americans would love it if the government media would end their embargo on writing about it truthfully and accurately.

Too long to review in detail right now, but a quick scan makes it look like worthwhile reading.

So how long has it been around and if a while why haven't the repubs been beating their drums over it?

His ideas have been around for at least 1 to 2 years and Republicans are beating the drum.  Its just the government media embargo has kept it out of the spotlight.  You will see it gain traction by the attacks ala Krugman.  If the GOP takes control of the House in November it will be front and center and all the various leftist entities (mainstream media, NGO's, Dems, etc.) will go on the attack.  This is actually fine because it will at least start the conversation.

When you have time please look it over carefully.  I would be interested in your perspective.  I keep hearing that the GOP has no ideas and this is a lot of ideas.  I have tried to get Hound to look it over but can't recall if she has commented or not. Would be interesting to hear her perspective as well because she is probably in the category of a conservative leaning Independent who really needs to be convinced.

Read the Executive Summary, thanks for the link. Republicans controlling the House, and possibly the Senate, will certainly get the government aimed in the right general direction. Will they, controlling the next Congress, do what is truly necessary for the long haul, focus federal spending on the constitutional requirements, slash federal outlays to 2003 levels, discontinue funding programs that either fail to produce forecast results, or, have deviated from their original funding requests, stop the ethanol and other farm subsidy madness, abolish corporate and inheritance taxes, minimize capital gains, slam the lid on entitlement expansion, and with the annual surplus, pay off the reported $14 trillion deficit over the next 7 years? Will they repeal No Child Left Behind? Abolish the Departments of Education and Energy? Place constitutional limits on Homeland Security, FCC, and EPA? Or, will they merely do enough to get re-elected?

I suspect that if they only gain control of the House all we can expect is for them to reduce the harm being done by OCarter and the Senate.  And remember, even if the GOP takes control of the Senate we will still have a number of RINOs (Snowe, Collins, Chafee, Brown, etc.) that will just as likely vote for big government programs as not.  I would have relatively low expectations and consider November to only incrementally improve matters.  What we need to do is send OCarter packing in November 2012.
