They are desparate ... desparate people do desparate things.   Sad ... Obama is using the driving analogy ... but he fails to say that when the car is heading for a cliff you dont leave it in "d" and speed up .... that is their answer ... spend, spend, spend .... the only thing you hear as to why the stimulus was a failure is that it was not big enough and they should have spent more.   Do you hear them talking about the 25% growth in federal government in 2 years?

It is all about power so they can tell us what we need ... not freedom of choice for us to decide.

Reminds me of Rush and Ingram encouraging Conservatives in states with open primaries to cross over and vote in the Democratic primary for Hillary to prolong the Democratic primary season. You considered that cool at the time. It is just pay back tiime.

The Democrats did that same trick in the most recent Republican run off. I personally know of several "yellow dogs" who voted for Bentley in the Governor's run off. Sparks was supposed to be stronger against Bentley. Why have a run off if the election has zero value for either party if cross over voting is that significant..

sorry fishy ... I'd have the same answer no matter which side. I have no idea what or if I posted something during the presidential election as you say, but since you log and keep track of everyones past responses to posts, I will have to believe you that there was something posted.

I have never agreed that there should be open primaries. To me, it makes no sense. That is how Lester Maddox was elected Gov. of Georgia. around 1966. The Republicans felt that Ellis Arnall would be the stronger candidate against the Republican Bo Calloway who was former Sec of the Army. So, Republicans voted in the Dem promary for Maddox thinking he would the weaker candidate. Well, Maddox won the primary and Ellis decided to run as a write in. Although Calloway won a plurality in the election, none of the 3 received more that 50% of the vote. Under Georgia law at the time, the election went to the Georgia Legislature to determine which of the 2 top, Calloway or Maddox, would be the winner. Well, since the Legislature in those days was Democratic, it was a foregone comclusion that Lester would be and win he did.

I also don't like open primaries.  Republicans and Democrats should be allowed to select their preferred candidates.  I also did not like Operation Chaos as Rush called it.  As I recall the nomination was mostly in the bag for Obama at the time and all Rush was trying to do was keep Hillary in the game for a little longer and hopefully encourage her to pursue a floor fight for the nomination (i.e., to get delegates committed to Obama to vote for her).  What is ironic to me though is that many Dems were being encouraged to support McCain in primaries at the same time but since no one listens to left-wing Airhead America radio it got little attention.

But lets be realistic, as long as states have this kind of open process in primaries there will be mischief.  But that is much different than putting up fake candidates in the actual election in order to split the vote, regardless of party affiliation.  That to me seems very different and very wrong.  And by that I don't mean the other side encouraging a true third-party candidate or independent run (i.e., when Dems encouraging Ross Perot or the GOP encouraging Ralph Nader).  That to me seems fair play and taking advantage of natural dissension in the other party to your benefit.  But to put forward a candidate masquerading as something they are not is wrong and either party that does so should be punished at the ballot box.
