I address this to you two as the only sane minds still voicing opinions on this forum. Have you heard the noise about a possible 2012 Independent presidential run with Mayor Bloomberg at the top of the ticket and Joe Scarborough for VP? What do you think? Bloomberg was a "no comment". Scarborough didn't confirm that he was considering it but made it clear that he was aware it was being talked about, and didn't pass it off as off the wall dreaming. They are known to be at least casual friends and Scarborough has been very complimentary to Bloomberg. I sure as heck know where my vote would go if the choice is Obama vs Palin vs Bloomberg!!

Who will a Bloomberg ticket take votes away from?? Not conservatives--Palin won't make it, so forget that. Who will it hurt? Bet o-BAMA.

I think everyone should lighten up on Obama. He got jobs for 63 Republicans November 2. Archie ... what happen to all your predictions? I am still rooting for you. But not holding my breath. Now I do have a question for you that we should understand now ... when the economy started to turn down after the dems took both houses of congress in 2006, you still blamed Bush. So now the republicans have one house and if the economy improves is that the republican congress or Obama? If the economy does not improve (which i believe will be the case) is that Obama or the republican congress if they can not get through what we all know will work? I am so surprised you reappeared ... you must be so embarrassed.

Have you run out of jokes and decided to rejoin us???? I have not heard of that possibility. I can see New York supporting Bloomberg and taking the electoral votes away from Obama. Without NY, he is gone and Palin would be president. Just an opinion from a very humble person. If Palin decides to run, the Dems should switch parties for the primary and do what Rush suggested that republicans should do during the last primary. That would drive the TeeTee Party nuts.

Joe Scarborough discussed it on his show this morning.  He said no, he didn't want it --- but I've always thought that Scarborough is a pol at heart.  I didn't realize that Bloomberg was seriously being considered, but I'm not ruling anyone out at this point.  He won't have money issues.

-B&S for 2012 is BS. -Bloomberg is enough of an egomaniac to try, but Scarborough will want no part of it. Bloomberg is probably looking for someone else; I'd bet a woman. -People in Florida have been trying to get Scarborough to run for state offices ever since he retired from congress. However, he quickly puts the kabosh (...does that term date me?) on all such suggestions. ...basically, he does not want to bring up all the old questions surrounding the death of a female assistant in his Florida office and his subsequent abdication as congressman. -He's got a good high-paying gig going and is unlikely to give it up to subject himself to his fellow MSNBC, FOX, CNN, and other sideline media critics. ...it's always more fun taking potshots than dodging potshots!

I think your post belongs in the "Jokes" section b/c you wrote that GF and Hound were sane. Very funny!!!!!

Now days I find a lot more sanity on the "jokes" forum than here. Did any of you consider that by 2012 the citizens of this country that are in fact the majority (the center left of the Democrats, the independents, and the center right of the Republicans)* will be so fed up with partisanship and gridlock that they will send the message for the 4th cycle in a row. STOP THE FACTIONAL/SPECIAL INTEREST/ POLITICAL PARTY LINE BS AND START TO PUT THE NATION AND HER NEEDS FIRST!!!!

* I know that the state of Alabama does not fit this mould, but thank God Alabama is not America!!!!

Typical Archie.....hiding for months while his beloved Dem party implodes in their leftist narcissism and his first post has to insult all of us (except two) by calling us insane.  Archie, glad you were spending all your time in the jokes section of the forum......somehow that seems apropos.

Hmmm… I didn’t understand Archie’s post.  Didn’t understand what he was for… or against.  Is he praising Alabama… or insulting Alabama?

He's insulting Alabama and conservative, run of the mill Americans that believe in freedom, limited government and taking care of yourself instead of relying on the nanny state to take money from others at the point of a gun and give it to the entitled class.

All the usual left wing nut stuff that we hear from our good friend GF, except without any hint of humor or good will.....

After some of the opinions I've seen your  post, not just here but on the other forum, I don't think you should be questioning my sanity.  The recent one about shooting dogs being okay told me more than I needed to know.

So I read Pontoons dog post(s) again. He didn't say it was OK, he said there may be circumstances where a resident may feel threatened by that animal on their property, and then shoot it to protect themselves. Regardless of local ordinance, a property owner may discharge a firearm for self defense. Still feel bad about the dog getting shot and know even less about the circumstances than the dog owner. HOWEVER, if that was my dog, and my dog was used for target practice, or shot for amusement, I am certain that I would cause the shooters to fear nightfall.

And a big "harumph harumph" for you...... Archie is patterned. He's good for about 6 months, taking the prescribed pills, maybe voluntarily or probably involuntarily, but you sure can tell when he starts hiding them instead of swallowing them.
