Too bad "Archies" is no longer open...he use to serve the best sardine plate in town (circa 1960's)...then again, it may have been the the frosty cool ones that made it so good.

Yes they are still open,thank God! I eat there at least once a week,some times even two to three times a week because I live close by and love the food. Only once out of the many times I've dinned there did they fail to bring my silverware and all I did was ask for it. It sits on the front counter if your in a hurry. They do have a skeleton crew (two brothers and wives) so forgive them if they forget anything which is very rare. I find as a rule the service is excellent and the food is even better. The atmosphere is superb with not a lot of fluff just great colors and feel. The food is priced great and is authentic mexican cusine.If it's not greasy and has a very fresh taste. If you want a treat ask for the real mexican guacamole,it's sooo good! Please go if you enjoy great mexican in a charming town. Tele is 334-541-2151 ,hours are M-Th lunch and dinner till 9pm, fri-sat lunch and dinner till 10pm. Sunday open for lunch only. They generally close between 3 and 5pm on week days. I love the food and the service and highly recommend it. In fact I met a super nice couple there monday that said they had heard of it on this forum. If they're reading this tell us your opinion. Please help support this wonderful restaurant as the the owners are good Christians with a community interest, Their kids go to the local schools and they have recently moved to Eclectic to be close to work. Every time I sit in there eating the excellent food looking out those giant plate glass windows I'm expecting Andy and Barney to come walking by. Rocking chairs on the sidewalk complete the experience,have a sit and relax in our little Mayberry.
