Subject:   GO OBAMA GO as Palin Loses Again

The Associated Press Monday, December 27, 2010; 6:20 PM WASHINGTON -- For the third straight year, President Barack Obama ranks as the man most admired by people living in the U.S., according to an annual USA Today-Gallup poll. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is the most-admired woman for the ninth year in a row, edging out former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and TV host Oprah Winfrey, as she did last year.

An interesting aspect relative the results of this poll: First Hillary, then Palin, then Obama have been rejected by the majority of voters in elections over the last two years! Yet they are the most admired. Seems odd, no?

During a team building exercise Dilbert was supposed to say something positive about the Pointy Haired Boss and all he could come up with was "I admire your ability to be paid for what you do".  That's about all I could say about Obama.  I would love to see the internals of this poll as I will guarantee you it was over represented with Democrats and the poll was taken during the week during the day when most conservatives and conservative independents are at work and the libtards are at home surfing the internet for free stuff and downloading illegal music (as determined by another poll).

These type of surveys are more about who is in the news than who is really admired, not to mention for what reason they are admired.

Having Palin as the second most admired woman doesn't exactly fall into the category of "losing".  Using that logic every woman in America is a loser, something I am sure your wife and mother would not appreciate being called.  I would think you would be appalled to learn that Sarah Palin is the second most admired woman in America.

If as you suggest that the survey for the most part was completed by lazy libtards, how do you account that Palin came in 2nd which as you state is not exactly losing? I am sure the overwhelming number of libtards completing the survey could have eliminated Palin was even placing quite easily. A typical right wing nut trying to justify by blaming the messenger. But all that aside, I do wish you and your family a Happy New Year.

OK GF, now for the rest of the story.  First lets examine the Messiah's numbers.  He gets 22% followed by W at 5% and Slick Willie at 4%.  In 2008 the Messiah had 32%, 2009 30% and now 22%.  Quite a downward trajectory, eh?  Billary had 17% followed by Palin at 12%.

But here's some interesting facts that you failed to mention.  First of all, the sitting U.S. President has been the most admired person for 52 of the 64 years that they have done the poll.  Secondly, Bush's numbers in his first four years were:  Election Year: 5% (Obama was 32%); Year 1: 39% (Obama was 30%); Year 2: 28% (Obama is at 22%).  So for 2 of the first three years Bush's numbers were higher and his numbers in Years 3 and 4 (29% and 23%) were both higher than Obama this year.  Slick Willie's numbers were 15%, 20%, 13% and 17% over the same period of his Presidency.

So it appears that not only is the Messiah's numbers not indicative of anything since he is a sitting President, but for the most part they are lower than the despised GW.  But what is even more telling to me is that nowhere do they identify the numbers of Democrats, Independents and Republicans.  Typically they overweight Democrats based on the population survey they use.

I think it is a sad statement on the people we consider "leaders" in this country (regardless of party), when their numbers are in the lower percentiles.  Might as well ask "who do you dislike more?"   Shaking my head.....

"Typically they overweight Democrats based on the population survey they use." You are atypical wing nut. After you give us all your numbers with no source cited you decide to end with a subjective comment based on an an apparent assumption that Republicans are too busy earning a living and practicing family values to participate in a survey whereas lazy libtards are always available. I trust you are correct on your numbers but as someone one said...Trust but Verify.

GF, in all the years you have known me I have been right 99% of the time because I do my homework.  All I did was go to the source of the poll, gallup.com, and read it and the pdf file with supposed details.  You may not like the numbers and their commentary, which is probably why your source did not cite the truth, but the numbers are what they are.  That's what happens when you get your information from ABS, CBS, pMSNBS, etc.  Gallup has a long and sordid history of oversampling Democrats based on faulty demographic data.  It is why they always, and I mean always, show Democrats doing better than they actually do as compared to accurate pollsters like Zogby, Rasmussen and others.

C'mon GF, you were hoping to make a statement about the supposed popularity of the Messiah and Billary and I burst your bubble.  Don't shoot the messenger!

Hound, it is a completely meaningless and stupid poll.  I would not place much stock in it since I really think people just list names they heard of recently which is why the President is #1 over 80% of the time.  As for me, neither Obama nor Bush are on my top 10 and neither Hillary nor Palin are either.
