Obama is the one person that can put this to rest once and for all - 2 minutes. I keep my birth certificate in a lock box and have had to show this document as part of my passport application. When he traveled as a youngster outside the country, he had to have a US passport. Where are the documents?.

Hawaii governor can't find Obama birth certificate

Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie suggested in an interview published today that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist within the vital records maintained by the Hawaii Department of Health.

Abercrombie told the Honolulu Star Advertiser he was searching within the Hawaii Department of Health to find definitive vital records that would prove Obama was born in Hawaii, because the continuing eligibility controversy could hurt the president's chances of re-election in 2012.

Donalyn Dela Cruz, Abercrombie's spokeswoman in Honolulu, ignored again today another in a series of repeated requests made by WND for an interview with the governor.

Toward the end of the interview, the newspaper asked Abercrombie: "You stirred up quite a controversy with your comments regarding birthers and your plan to release more information regarding President Barack Obama's birth certificate. How is that coming?"

In his response, Abercrombie acknowledged the birth certificate issue will have "political implications" for the next presidential election "that we simply cannot have."

I don't see why he should have to prove his is a citizen. Let the people saying he isn't prove that he isn't.
There are more pressing problems I want the leadership spending time on. This is a Republican red herring. They should spend their time more productively -- like trying to find a viable candidate for 2012.

I think he is cunning in letting this issue fester as it benefits him politically. Frankly, I think he is a citizen but there is something about his birth certificate that is at odds with his self proclaimed life story. Probably nothing more than some of the same fabrications about his father that he tells in his book that would be a minor blip for him given the cover he receives from the government media.

I am much more concerned about his governing and agree with you that we need to focus on providing a strong alternative in 2012 so we can send him on the Hate America World Tour with the worthless one Jimmy Carter.

MM, I think you are correct. I have no reason to question his citizenship, or didn't until he refused to release the papers that would have ended this debate. I theory is that he doesn't want the full document released because of his race. We have friends from bi-racial parents. The race listed on their birth certificate is that of the mother, not the father, and certainly not both. If his birth certificate is like that, which is the standard, he is caucasian and therefore NOT the first black president. Talk about alienating your base and disenfranchising all those who made an incorrect assumption!
