So is it leftover from the first oil spill or is this a new oil spill? Apparenly there is a 100 mile oil slick and it's coming ashore. dead fish dead baby porpoises dead birds impact to the wetland marsh failed businesses impact to fisherman and gulf shrimp Bad tourist season major oil cleanup People still trying to get paid off by BP real estate at the beach plummets Yeah, I can see why we should drill more wells.

You are right again, hound.  Much more congent policy to loan Brazil's 'Petrobra's'  (With huge investments from George Soros) $2 billion so they can drill offshore there?  Still block and or ban domestic oil production here..  Makes sense to me,,  I guess??

you are right.  and we should ban nuclear too since there was an earth quake in japan, and no matter how many wind mills we put up and solar panels it will not serve the needs, and lets face it coal is dirty and mines collapse ... so I think the only rationale answer is go back to candles and wood fires for heat ... lets just forget about electricity or carbon fuels .. all should just stop driving too, people get killed in cars.  Planes crash, so lets ban air travel.

Come on hound ... you are smarter than what you just wrote ... at least I think you are.  Be realistic.

Baby seals?  Are there any dead baby seals?  Wring your hands. Close the curtins. The sky is falling!

Gee that's funny because I am trying to rent a house on the Gulf and most of the ones we want are already rented for most of the summer.  And we have looked at dozens of homes from Orange Beach to Destin.  If there is still a problem with people heading to the Gulf it is because of continued media coverage.  The roving bands of people hired by BP to clean up oil on the beach have been almost entirely disbanded because they could not find anything to clean for weeks on end.

As long as I have been going to the Gulf I have seen dead birds, fish, etc.......they don't live forever.

The oil is coming ashore in Louisiana. the pictures were on the news. I don't think any of it has come ashore yet, in Alabama or Florida. Yes, there are always dead birds and fish, but not in the volume that we have seen after the oil spill. I just think we are right to go slow about drilling any more wells. I'm sure as a scientist you know that it can take take a long time for the impact of an incident to become apparent. We can always drill, but once we do it, we can't take it back.

Drill Baby Brill! The problem is all the "enviros" that forced it in to DEEP water where it is impossible to manage, maintain or even get to without special equipment. We bought Alaska for it's natural resources and people don't want to drill there either. hummm.

I just got back from the beach and I've never in 40 years seen it this crowded. Kids spending their parents money left and right. : )

They have determined that it is coming from a well they are trying to plug off Texas. Never heard the company name. They thought only 5 gallons had escaped, but it seems a lot more than that. Of course, they will pay for the cleanup. I wonder if they will pay if the shrimpers can't do their thing.

1 – Park your car and go hide in your bedroom… watch sitcoms and reality shows the rest of your life.

2 – Put up a windmill in your backyard, solar panels on your roof, and plant a vegetable garden (your neighbors will love you for this).

3 – Drive a tiny little car and send your money to the Arabs, Caesar Chavez… and now, I suppose, the Brazilians.

Life is replete with choices, opportunities, and risks.  Make intelligent choices.  Seize opportunity when it comes around.  Stand up and boldly face into the wind… even a dead boat will go downwind.
