I was so thrilled for him. His food was awesome (although I'm a bit skeptical about the foi gras ice cream.) There's something nice about seeing the humble guy win. He was so consistent throughout the season.

I did.  Yes he was the clear winner.  He has done that foie gras ice cream at a few of the restaurants that he has been the executive chef.  It is not bad ... once you get past the thought you are eating goose liver for dessert.

I was worried if he did not win that he would self destruct.  He puts an extreme amount of pressure on himself.  He is very creative and talented, but like an artist, he never things he is good enough and very self critical.

SAD NEWS - Please join me in remembering YET ANOTHER great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes to the belly. He was 71. Dough Boy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children, John Dough, Jane Dough, and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the Oven. Services were held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes

I can see that. Wonder what he'll do with his $200K -- expand Flip or open a new restaurant. It's not a lot of money for a new start. Maybe he'll gain some confidence with the magazine spread and the showcase.

In the words of Larry, the Cable Man..... Now that's funny, I don't care who you are.

if we are showing our ages laughing about the Pillsbury Dough Boy. I don't even think they use him anymore... I'm trying to remember when the last time I saw a commercial that used him. Maybe he really did die...

Not a lot for a new place. But I am sure the win will bring in plenty of investors. I don't think he owns Flip ... I know he consulted on the concept and helped develop the menu. I have been their ... very casual and a very young crowd.

I've been to the one in B'ham. I thought his bio said he owned it.

I checked SNOPES to confirm the Dough Boy’s passing. More often, SNOPES confirms that Lottie and Waterboy have posted, for the most part, myths. However, this time they confirm that the Dough Boy did indeed pass on. He was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours. Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still, as a crusty old man, was considered a roll model for millions. He is also survived by his elderly father Pop Tart.
