Just got done reading the MP thread and holy crap is he an idiot. There have been some DAs on this forum but Bob has just won the grand prize.
The police are being proactive by checking people at the rock. There is a high percentage of people that drink there and the MPs are targeting those individuals. If you don't like being stopped at chimney rock then don't go there. We never go there for that very reason. The rock is where alot of the trouble gets started. People drink there all day and they motor home at the end of the day or at night and then the accidents happen. Based on you your tone I'm sure the MPs are not polite to you b/c your rude to them. I hope you get boarded everytime you go there.
He definatly needs his own Bigfoot forum award!!!!

Dude, if you don't go to the rock you are missing out on the best T&A show on the lake.
That might make you dumber than Bob. I would quit drinking and go see the T&A.
And I am not sure that targeting people with out horns and life jackets and attached kill switches at the the rock is the best use of limited resources.
I keep my boats moored safely and I also have life jackets fire extinguishers, horns, killswithches attached, etc. But I have seen enough comments on here by people who don't like getting their boats banged up, and don't like reckless boaters driving by their grandkids. I am sure those people would rather the MP dudes be patroling to get such jerks, rather than enjoying the T&A at the rocks.
And did you notice, they seem to always check the boats with the best T&A!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Problem is they stay at the rock all day and then LEAVE and drive toward my family. It's pretty obvious who's doing the "party hardy" thing there and I would just as soon they be stopped in their tracks. I personally LOVE profiling and think it comes in handy! ie Buff young gals and guys, loud music, taking chances, lots of cans in sight...good one to check.
Old red necks leering and cheering at the jumping girls, bumpers still hangen' off the boat, lots of cans....good one to check! Not that I don't love a good red neck too! ha

Well there ia at least one intelligent reasonable person on this board I see from the comments above. The entire thread I started was to state IN A WORLD OF SHRINKING AND FEWER RESOURCES I FEEL THE MP'S COULD MAKE BETTER CHOICES TO HELP KEEP US ALL SAFE. If you think random and continuous boat checks at the Rock are the best use of those resources that is YOUR opinion but it does not make me wrong and it OK for me not to like the random and, for the law abiding among us, ANNOYING BOAT CHECKS.
Sooooo I could give a ratts @#$ what you think. I do not need the adoration of a bunch of random posters who have no room for other opinions.
Ohhh...one more thing...the Lake is far better without the BIG FAST BOATS!!!! :) Just trying to stoke Cat now :) Yes I am the same Bob from years ago, never left, lurk often but you guys have been boring and I have had nothing to post about really. This board is MUCH better with me here and posting so be nice and I will continue to post (half of what I post is meant in jest people and I KNOW the reaction it will get and it AMUSES me). I know members of this board and they get quite a kick out of my entanglements with this board over the years...now I am busy and need to do some work, which I will do sitting at my Lake House, watching the water...gonna be a nice day...wanna meet for a Beer? My boat and seadoos are still in storage so you will have come get me...wait...I am not sure some of you I would trust. May be an Updyke among you who wishes to do me or my home harm so scratch that...maybe...

I have not had anything but Coffee so far. I did have a few bourbons last night though, grilled a Ribeye too. I would think I will hold off until on a cold one until after lunch.

I understand your point but I tend to disagree. The Rock is a target rich environment. Tons of people go thru that area. What is the difference with them randomly riding around the lake or randomly checking people at the rock? They are strapped for cash so sitting at the rock and not burning money is a better option for them. The only negative is that they just don't have much of a presence elswhere on the lake. I do see them at least once on a weekend up here near Sandy Creek but that is about it. I can'e rememeber the last time I have seen someone stopped in this area.
As far as the T&A show goes, you and others must not have a nice view at home. I would probably do the same if I was not happy with what I already have. Maybe you and others on the forum could sell your boats, get a crapload of ones and head to the Gold Club or Flashers in ATL. You could hit it every weekend during the summer and the bonus would be you wouldn't have to worry about the AL MPs.
