Looking at building/remodeling decks at the lake. We like the steel cable handrail or ballister design as it provides the least amount of obstruction to the view. Got a quote and almost fell off my deck at the costs. The model we looked at has aluminum post and top rail, with SS cables and fittings. Doesn't have to be that exact design, but something similar. Anyone looked at this design - suggestions for vendors, etc?

Do it yourself. Buy some aircraft cable and tensioners and go for it, cannot be that hard.

Sure there are some forum members here that would not mind if you came by and looked at theirs.

Looking at DIY as an option. Looks like plenty of cable & fittings available on the web.

I might be able to help. I have over 4,000 ft of 3/16 stainless cable up at our place. Send me an email, if you're interested.
