I keep hearing news blurbs from dems saying that they averted a shutdown and did not have to concede to the level of cuts the republicans wanted. Can somene explain how they feel it is a victory to still have a budget with the deficits it has and the country on the brink of bankruptcy. Yup ... that is something the dems can be proud of ... it is their policies of spend and entitlement with no way to pay for them that put us here. They should be so proud.
But they debt ceiling limit is coming in May ... Obama has called for an unconditional increase in the debt limit. Nope not going to happen. I think (hope) we get real cuts when that comes around. Like entire departments gone ... Obamacare destroyed ... cuts in entitlement. Lets change this mentality the dems created that you can free load off the government rather than work. Lets require commity service jobs/work to receive ANY government handout. Cleaning buildings, parks, roads, empty garbage, etc. Don't want to do it ... sorry the tax payers are not going to allow you to freeload any more.

Absolutely right. Everyone got to play to their base.
And Obama will get the debt ceiling raised, because in the end, there isn't really any choice. Not that they won't waste weeks posturing on it.

Spot on. Likely why they could afford to hog tv time on Friday. I felt they played it to the wire just so us dumbells would be so grateful they did pass a budget.
