Not insignificant -- he was cheating on his wife. Of course, that is becoming the norm, isn't it? Amazing these guys find the time for romance. It would be interesting to know (and maybe a small number indeed) those who don't cheat on their spouses.

It took him 2 years to resign. Doesn't sound like a party of principal, but rather, a party that waited to see if it would just go away and when it did not put the pressure on him to resign. Don't give me that principal stuff as it makes you appear blind and deaf to true ethics. And, we know that is not true!!!!!!!!!!

Will this ever end? Seems like just yesterday the democrat leadership locked arms on the white house lawn to protect bill clinton, this following his diddling the intern in the oval orafice, then lying about it to investigators. It seems that picture sent a lasting message. Ensign, and those sharing his values, john edwards comes to mind, should be drummed out of office. Thieves and tax cheats should be held accountable to the law, not just the ethics committee, maxine waters, rangel, conyers, geithner and barney are examples. Just guessing it is ok for them, and others like them, to keep their hands in the till because, other than geithner, they are in "safe" seats. I am willing to walk this path with you all day long.

What is interesting about your comment is typical with wing nuts. You never condemned Ensign's actions but rather implied it is justified based on all the scumbag Democrats you mentioned. The fact remains that scumbags in either party have no place in Washington. However, the irony is that the conservatives hold themselvbes to be the party of high principals, ethics, and moral behavior. The truth is that scumbags exist within your ranks too. Two of your leading candidates for 2012 are working on their 3rd or 4th wife...Trump and Newt. Don't expect me to try and justify Clinton based on what a wing nut did. Clinton was a scumbag with the intern.

How can it be more clear than "Ensign, and those who share his values,....should be drummed out of office". Check it out, stll available in spite of chairman o's efforts to regulate the net and its content. Regressives are the symbol of the democrat party. Worried about you for a minute when I heard that O was sending drones to the Paki's, thought you might make the short list, then learned it was military hardware.

Newt and Trump are potential candidates for the Republican nomination. I find it amazing that you 1) seem to know more about each of them than you knew of the person you reportedly cast your vote for in 2008, and 2) find their serial marriages more offensive than listening to rev wright preach hatred for 20 years, or lying about relationships with ayers, or earmarking monies to a hospital employing your spouse and enabling a $200k raise in a position left unfilled since nov 08, or recorded support for letting abortion survivors die on table. That's right, amazing. Keeping toking that stuff that makes you believe what the faeries, unicorns, and egg spheres tell you.

Don't confuse Jellyfish with logic and facts. He is confused enough as it is. Did you notice when he was challenged again he caved and went running. He is so sad with no credibility. He is proud to say he voted for the disaster some call our president ... but he has NEVER even once responded to what Obama has done since in office that was positive and good for the country. It is indeed sad that it took so long for him to do the right thing and just because a party, the GOP, has principals doesn't mean a dirt bag who cheats on his wife will do the right thing. Of course my point stands, if he were a Dem it would be enough to be President. Still wiating on Charlie Rangel the tax cheat to resing but considering all the tax cheats working for the Messiah it would seem a bit hypocrtical to call on him to step down.
GF, the fact is that for a Dem that cheats on his wife or his taxes or whatever, not only are there no calls from the left for them to step down but they circle the wagons in rabid, foam at the mouth defense of the dirt bags. And that is the truth......

I can not waste my time on you finding tiny news stories trying to generalize. As MM pointed out ... both parties will have their problems with individuals. It is not a perfect world ... but dems use them as resume builders, rarely resign and are in denial. Just like you that Obama and the dems have done anything positive for the country when they had congress or the white house.
