Store 34 and Store 19 had it last year but, alas, no more.

Nail's (Eclectic) is on there. the only one listed for Dadeville is PURE on Highway 34 and the PURE at the 280 Bridge. That may be the one you refered to as "Store 34" and "Store 19" though.

Eagle station at intersection of 49 and 50. So far, they are very competitively priced. Looks like all majors stopped about the same time--is. Chevron and Shell at 34 and 49.

There is a station in Auburn that I once used for my cars that I'm suspect of, but I have confidence in Nails and the Eagle that I use on a regular basis.

You ever think about marina fuel and taxing of gasoline? Is there an "offroad" gasoline. Last time I saw a boat going down the road, It was on a trailer, and the engine was not running. I think, although not sure, we pay a road tax on fuel at Marinas. New topic. This should be good.

Now that is a topic worth talking about! Never thougth about it. all boaters need to start a grass roots effort to reduce the tax paid on gas purchased at marinas. Cat is right. None of this tax is used to better the water we use to play on. All the boat associations need to get behind this also. Dang good point CAT! Buy you a beer when I see you again.

There are Organizations, that should concentrate of topics like this, but for some reason they choose to chase other things that really don't matter to anyone other than themselves. One day soon, maybe.....JUST MAYBE I can run for office of one of those organizations and make a difference. But for now, they refuse to let me in. I wonder why?

ps. You really go and think the fuel tax thing through, and you want be happy. Marina fuel should be equal too, or LESS than fuel sold at stations for ON ROAD use.

This is an issue that everyone with boats, power equipment, and older cars should educate themselves on....it's also something we should all be addressing with our elected officials.

a portion or maybe all of the gas tax charged by the marinas goes to the State Department of Conservation, the Marine Police and other waterway related programs.
However, if you buy your gas at the roadside service station all of that tax goes to roads.
I researched this years ago, when I was considering buying dyed gas for boats. It may have changed but I doubt it.

I believe that if the fueling stations/tanks contain ethanol it has to be stated so on the pumps in plain view. If there's no e"ethanol" sticker on the pump, then it's ethanol free. Store owners will post homemade signs saying "ethanol free" knowing folks like us are looking for it.

of any movement or decision to keep you from joining or running for office of HOBOs. And I'm the Secretary of HOBOs, attend the meetings, keep the minutes, so I think I would know.
I'm not sure what issues you think that HOBOs is pursuing that aren't important, but I can say that the relicensing issue and lake levels affect everyone. The people that are engaged in these issues are volunteering significant amounts of their personal time attending meetings, reviewing data and developing position papers.
I personally invite you to attend the annual meeting (whenever we can get it rescheduled). There is always some time set aside for "new" business, and adequate time set aside for people to ask questions.
But, it is not intended to be a platform for those with a personal axe to grind.

Last year, I retailed over 7 million gallons of e10 blended fuel. Cars and light/medium duty trucks manufactured in the last 15 years have no fuel system issue with the blend. Older models will ultimately see corrosion in the lines as a result. ALL engines, regardless of age or application, using the blend will experience diminished fuel economy. Why use it? Because our central gummint uses direct subsidies (cash to the producers) to make it commercially viable. E10 wholesale is usually about $.07 less than non blended. Would you buy your gas down the road to save $.07? No need to answer Yes. People will leave me for $.03. So, because Uncle attaches the economic incentive, I pass my savings on to you, knowing that you see the road price sign but will fail to factor the 7-10% reduction in mpg, which at $3.50/gallon ADDS the equivalent of $.25+/gallon to the real cost. The short sighted consumer is directly responsible for todays limited fuel choices. I give them what they want, and time and again, by voting with their wallets, they choose the lowest price option. If you want real gas, get to the few folks offering it and support them at every opportunity, and be sure you let them know why you are there. By support them, I mean drag your tail inside and pick up a cold drink and Snickers because they aren't making squat on the fuel. Butch, at Walnut Hill Grocery has ethanol free Premium, the only fuel I will run in my boats or bikes. I made it a point just yesterday to appreciate him.

Which organizations were you referring to? I think some specificity is in order.
Cat, you know I like you and find you funny most of the time, but you've made a couple of posts that are provocative... I don't know if you are just bored and looking to stir something up; or if you are making comments with a point and then stepping back from them.
My hat is off to anyone that volunteers to spend time helping the lake in whatever capacity they do -- that includes you, because I know you try to do good whenever you can. Frankly, I am dumbfounded at the complexity of some of these problems and the time they take to research. It can seem like an ego trip when you look at it from afar, but really, it's not like that at all.

Very few realize that it's a better value to pay 15-25 cents a gallon more for ethanol free gas, even if your car/truck can burn the ethanol. If you include long term problems and factor in issues with boats and other engines, the cost is much greater to use ethanol. If people would take the time to learn the REAL facts, most would be outraged.

Corn based ethanol is an energy net net loser. It takes nearly as much energy to produce as it will yield, the 10% taxpayer subsidized blend nets a 7+% efficiency penalty, this while it creates artificial demand for a commodity driving up ALL grain prices (wheat is indexed to corn). Higher feed costs, higher transportation costs, higher food costs. They used to call it inflation, paying more to get less. Now, they call it environmental justice. If you are concerned now, tune in to the proposed EPA greenhouse gas regs. They include an e15 mandate (15% ethanol blend, 50% higher than the e10 we are suffering with today). The primary obstacle to the e15 mandate is the petroleum retailers association insisting on federal protection from the liability associated with the e15 sale.
