I believe I would head north up the river for tubing, etc. Lots of kids were put in harms way last weekend at the mouth of Blue Creek.

I suggest everyone stay south and take their chances. I like the fact that the northern part is not busy for us northern boaters.

Based on prior posts regarding conditions, and vessel operators apparent disregard for the hazards, we may very well see, first hand, some finalists for the annual Darwin Awards.

Last week I hit a short 2x6 with a nail in it between Sand Island and Willow Point Golf Course. I felt like I was in a safe area. The current flows down the main river channel, but the back-water debris is moved more by the wind. In my opinion there is no "safe" area.

The only safe place is sitting on the dock with a cooler full of ice cold beer. That can even be dangerous. I have been known to fall off the dock around the 12 beer mark.

Nothing wrong with that, while in the water, create space for more beverages, then climb back onto the pier and soldier on.... :-)

We saw a few things floating outside of Anchor Bay last Saturday but most of the lake was pretty clear...including the area around the Dam and the Rock. We went out on Sunday morning while it was calm to pick it the debris off Anchor Bay and all that was left was 2 or 3 small boards.....and beer cans and water bottles.
Please keep our beautiful lake clean.

There is no way that I would boat in the area East of Kowaliga Bridge, period. Tons of debris from that tornado were thrown into the lake, and not all of it is floating or sunk to the bottom. Some is suspended, just under the water line. Picture a whole roof torn off at Children's Harbor suspended just under the surface, moving to the dam. Goodbye outdrive/transom.
Maybe just me, but my boat ain't going there.

Pulled 2 diff 5/4 boards out of the lake last weekend North of Wind Creek, about a mile south of the Hwy 280 bridge. One had about 16 nails and the other about 12 nails 16 penny nails sticking straight up, accident waiting to happen. Appears some of the damage has drifted way North, how other than prevailing winds I have no clue.

Think we are staying home this weekend to avoid any safety issues.

Sad to say, everytime the wind changes, the junk moves. Have seen boards in places I didn't think they would be and people are tubing right through it. A matter of time before somebody gets hurt really bad.
