Probably is a little bit early for local fresh, but most of the stuff that the bigger markets has is pretty good, though trucked a long way.

Thanks - wife picked up some at W-D....tasted great but significantly on the "firm" side of tender.
Maybe in a couple weeks the local crops will start maturing. Thanks for the suggestions.

As an alternative to boiling ... try rubbing butter on it cold, salt and pepper and wrap in foil, then throw on the grill, turning every now and then. Great. Also you can put some parm cheese on it before grilling and that is great too.

Pugs Place (Mims market on 34 and 49. They have the best fresh vegetables anywhere.

Thanks, but that intersection is 35 miles and a good 45 minutes from our cabin. Seems all the good stuff is over there!
BTW, your sauce was an excellent complement to our ribs...

Mr. Hodja, I'm pretty sure I'd not drive that distance either just for fresh corn! We do have a good many conveniences on our side of the lake.

Actually was in the AC Wally World this afternoon and they had some that seemed pretty fresh - in the husk - when pressed with a thumbhail it didn't exactly spurt but there was plenty of juice there.
But, alas, yesterday my wife ended up with some in shrink-wrap. tasty, but kinda tough.
