Subject:   Question ... and a way to cut spending
Date:   6/12/2011 8:49:02 PM

I have a job.   I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes & the government distributes my taxes As it sees Fit.

In order to get that paycheck, in my case, I am required to pass a random urine Test (with which I have no problem).

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

So, here is my question:

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet.  I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their BUTT----doing drugs while I work.

Can you imagine how much money Each state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a welfare check?

I guess we could call the program "URINE OR YOU'RE OUT"!

Florida Gov Rick Scott signed legislation into law last week that requires new welfare enrollees to submit to drug screens. And, the enrollee must pay for the test. The usual suspects, including the renowned former federal jurist and current member of the USHouse, Alcee Hastings, spent the last week condemning this blatently racist law. He said white Floridians were reaping the benefit of tax cuts by denying assistance to the needy African Americans. He probably meant to say that Floridians decided to not provide taxpayer assistance for people to buy illegal drugs. Yeah, thats probably what he meant to say.

I think it is totally rational to make sure that the money that is being provided for "welfare" is actually going for what is intended and not for drugs. I used to be subject to random drug tests and I never had a problem with it. If you don't do drugs, you have nothing to hide or worry about. I think whenever you take a handout, you've got to expect to dance to the tune. For the record, I'm also in favor of welfare limits.

Sounds reasonable to me. Being on welfare is a priviledge bestoyed by society for those less fortunate.Only a fool would argue that collecting welfare and doing drugs is acceptable. As to providing a sample at work. I would call it Pee For The Boss. And, I voted for Obama.

is that you will find yourself in lonely company on this issue. If this idea picks up steam you will see liberal Dems lining up to call it racist, unfair, blah, blah, blah. You will find yourself in the company of conservatives on this issue but not many liberals, especially liberal politicians.
