Moon looks great! Starting to decorate for July 4. Lights in trees, on deck, on dock, up flag pole....what do you do?

Cook for the kids and grandkids, cook for the kids and grandkids, etc.,etc., etc. Oh yeah, forgot, buy multiple gallons of gas for the boats. Even though my kids probably make more money than me, it seems, as the Patriarch of the family, it is my obligation to keep the boats gassed up. And no, I am not bitter..... not at all. Can I get a pitty party here?

Pitty party? Sure, no problem, just send your address and we will be over to eat, ride the boat, and drink your beer - you do supply the beer too, right?

Probably the best Margaritas known to man.

How about the recipe? That's one drink I can't seem to get right.

that you can buy at Winn Dixie.

Here is a recipe that I got from Eric Felten who used to write about drinks for the WSJ, it is incredible, in my opinion.  If you want an icy sour slurpee like deal to drink on for a while, this is not your recipe.  If you want the original intent and taste, try it out.  It blew me away and I can't drink a margarita any other way now. I usually put it in martini glasses.  I also usually shake it until the shaker is so cold it hurts my hands, then serve it quick so that it's cold:

2 oz blanco tequila
1 oz Cointreau
¾ oz fresh lime juice

Shake with ice and strain into a stemmed cocktail glass or champagne saucer that has been lightly rimmed (or not) with salt. And be sure that your tequila is made from 100% agave.

That is the original recipe. Absolutely the only way to go.

If you are looking for a consistently good and easy frozen margarita recipe try this.

Place in a blender the following

One can of frozen Minute Maid lime juice
    One can of tequila
One half can of triple sec
Fill remaining space with ice and blend on high

One warning; you best have a good blender because you will be making multiple batches.

What brand of canned tequila do you use?

Great Mararita Recipe

one part Jose Quervo Gold or other Tequila of choice
one part Roses lime juice (or real lime juice)
one part Bols Triple Sec
splash of orange juice
shake with ice
pour over ice in salt rimmed glass
splash of cointreau or orange curacao
lime wedge
enjoy!

Thanks, I was looking for the frozen recipe, not the sipping kind. Heading to the beach on Sat. and wanted a different frozen recipe to try. I want to make several batches, stick the pitchers in the cooler and head out to the beach. The other recipes just don't lend themselves well for what I want to do. There more for after the beach, sitting on the balcony, watching the sun set and trying to get my buzz going again to go out that night after binge drinking all day on the beach
