got some friends coming in hat weekend. What is the best way to experiece event? Can you get reserved spots? If not, can you just arrive by boat and hook up to a mooring? Can you leave at anytime?

Any recommendations appreciated.........never attended before.

There are no reserved spots, just go and moor. If you are coming from the South, go between the "LNG's Mater Stand" and "Mike Elliotts grillin barge". The next boat will be "Cathouse Marine Valet Parking" - be careful if Randy offers to park your boat. Ulysses E. McGill is in charge of approach, Kizma Anuice is in charge of directing traffic around the mooring area. Good luck.

You can buy official mooring spots from Russell and will be considered a sponsor if you go that route. These spots will be up close. You can throw an anchor anywhere else for free. If you are up close, it would be hard to leave at anytime because of the traffic, but not necessarily impossible. If you're a little further back, coming and going should be easy but your ability to hear the music will be limited.....all depends on what you want. I suggest bringing lots of food and drink and plan on staying the afternoon. Dress to swim, and bring noodles and tubes to float on.

First thing you have to understand:

There is Acquapolooza and there is "Acqua_Lake Martin Forum Characters_polooza".  The two posts above have referred to each.  You will much more enjoy the later.  Come a little bit after it starts, look for a long row of 'toons, etc, and a lot of huggies, koozies and noodles.  That will be your party. And, "You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave!'

P.S. to Summer:   maters are a bust this year.  McGill told me I should feed them Bud Light and they are all gone.

LNG, my maters are a bust too. I asked the market mater man Saturday why?? He said I planted too early this time and stunted them. Up and down Spring temps are the cause. He planted mid-May and is abpout 10 days from picking his early Goliath crop. Puke.

You got a bunch of wasted squirels with red lips running around your yard, swinging from trees, and sunning on your pier? If so - you got pre-marinated grill food. I have a feeling that UEM just wanted you to leave the beer in the garden, and he has been feeding recycled beer to your plants...

I was a little suspicious when he said to "leave the BL in a cooler near the mater"   I thought "how can that help them grow" but sure enough next morning there was moisture around every plant.  Anyway, they are gone now, and so is my Bud Light.

Anyone who knows me well can easily name my lake beer and also knows I will only be caught with a BL in an emergency....I'm surprised LNG, you should know better.

Well you might like that mountain water, but I consider losing 'maters a state of emergency!

Maters rule and u are (were?) my mater connection.....I actuality think Mack may be on to something, because the tomatoes Amanda is growing in GA are looking  great. She only has a couple of plants, but she planted them late. They are also  planted in the same place  maters were growing for the last 4 years, so the "same soil" argument doesn't hold water. I keep waiting for them to wilt, but I hope not! BTW, the maters I planted there last year did poorly and I planted them early.....hmmmmm.

I will have to get her to give me some lessons.  In the meantime we need to study up on southern bacterial wilt.

Nope, I rigged up a beach ball version of Magic 8 Ball, the more we drink, the more little sayings we add. I just shook it again, so am looking for the right thread. Next up is "Ever since Bob started working for CAT, it seems that CAT's boats are getting smaller"...
