Not so sure I would have it done by the lowest bidder - if that is the case however, I understand there is a Doctor in Haiti... I friend had hers done a while back at Michelson Laser Vision in Birmingham, and was very pleased.

When it comes to the eyes its probably better to find the best and pay more. I had Lasik done in Atlanta 5 or 6 years ago and it is fantastic. Only caveat is if you have dry eyes you might not want to do Lasik. It can make the problem worse. Otherwise you will love it.

It is so sad that only the "producers" can afford lasik as Medicaid does not cover it.

Skeeter, I can't say for sure but rumor has it Medicaid will cover your operectomy as an outpatient. People that have been through it tell me that it is life changing, they had no idea how short sighted they were the entire time their heads were up their tails. Good luck, let me know how it comes out for ya....

GF, you truly have a one track mind...... Medicaid could probably afford to pay for Lasik if only the truly needy were on the government dole instead of so many lazy, shiftless parasites. But the more people suckling the government teet the more voters for the Democrat party........ Besides, why do they need Lasik? They can always move their couches closer to the TV so they can watch their latest daytime soaps and write the names of law firms that will get them the most money out of their latest car accident. The productive like me need it so I don't have to put contacts in before I fly my airplane.....such a needless hassle, don't you agree? :-)

GF - Medicare doesn't pay for breast or penile implants either - would you argue they are less important? Or are they important enough that people will (of their free will) pay for them?

My penile implant would only be half price since I only need the OFF switch!!

Ahhhh .... class envy again.  Get a backbone and made you too could be a producer.   I am sure it is easier to blame others for your failures and be jealous others actually want to contribute to society.   As they say ... the problem with socialism is you start running out of people to take from.
