I heard yesterday that federal agents raided the Yellowhammer right after a charitable event and seized the cash.  Probably a back tax issue.  Has anybody heard oterwise?

... and were having an 'estate sale' last weekend.  I heard the owner passed away, but that is NOT confirmed.

The owner stated in OA News that lack of business was the reason for closing

We used to love the Yellow Hammer. But the last time we went -- about 4-5 months ago, the food was uninspired and not very tasty. It was a Saturday night and the place wasn't even half filled. I think when they lost their original chef, things went downhill. It doesn't surprise me it closed.

How does "finding the good in people" relate here? I agree, I like to find the good in people too, but I'm having trouble relating it to a restaurant closing. Enlighten me, oh Great Cat. I'm searching for wisdom.

I did not mean it in relation to the closing. Prolly should have been a thread all its on I guess. It's just really hard now days keeping your head up at times. It's in these times we are faced with bad news at every corner. Every news broadcast. Every article. Etc, etc. You know what I am saying. Yet, we pray for strength, and wisdom, and knowledge each night so that we may face the next day. Imagine, having to close a business! For whatever reason! Forget the reason. Think of the other lives that are effected. Those other families that depended on there jobs. WOW. That alone is a heavy responsability. We have SIX families that depend on us. Yes, that is a good thing, but comes with a bit of worry every Friday. Please, don't read to much into my previous post. It just makes my guts hurt to see ANYONE going out of business, for any reason. It must be tough. I did not mean anything, but thanks for biting anyway. LOL. ps. Ask Lamar where my clock is. The one he promised me 8 years ago?

Got it. I'm the same. I find myself limiting my news reading and watching because there is only so much bad news I feel like I can absorb. Even hearing stories about people I don't know affects me deeply.
