Pontoon boats are the worst thing that ever hit Lake Martin and ought to be outlawed.
1. 95% of people riding the lake with illegal docking lights ride pontoons.
2. they are almost always over crowded with cheapass boaters wanting to get a crappot load of people on the lake with out buying gas.
3. 100% of the boaters trying to live the "Haitian Dream" are on pontoons.
4. They are often piloted by first time boat owners who see them as the all around boat.
5. Drunks open the gates on pontoons and piss.
6. They are always getting in the way of real boats.
7. Guys with fat wives with hemorrhoids buy them because the wives bitch if the boat bounces.
8. They don't bounce enough to make the right parts of girls come out of bikinis.
9. Jackasses tube small children behind them in main channels.
10. They are generally ugly, like the people who buy them.

as regards number 3, the "Haitian Dream" is to get as many people as possible on a boat. this has been going on for decades now with Haiti and Cuba. sometimes called boat people. It is what all people in Haiti aspire to, like in this country, the "American Dream" is to be more successful than your parents and now, to own your own home.
BTW the "MEXICAN DREAM" is to get as many people as possible to stay in one dwelling.
Many people who come to lake Martin pursue the "Mexican Dream" and try to sleep 3 generation of 3 extended families in one house. Oddly enough, these same people would object to Mexicans doing the same thing in their neighborhood.
Most pontoon owners pursue the "HAITIAN DREAM" by trying to put as many people as possible on the pontoon boat.

Looks like you would prefer pontoons, they do not go as fast, or make near the wake of a v-hull, most of the pontoons that I see are going about 18 to 20 mph, have nice v-hull I would love to trade for one of these awful pontoons.

My Bayliner is doing well enough....it pulls skiers, wakeboarders and kneeboarders just fine....it's 8 years old; still looks brand new....never had an ounce of trouble from it....the only maintenance I do is I change the impeller and spark plugs once a year and change the oil and filter twice a year....the boat has been a blessing for me; especially after my FourWinns that spent more time in the shop than on the water.
