While I am not an Obama voter I can tell you this.  She is clearly a product of the city of Atlanta publich school system.  No wonder we are always duking it out other states for second to last place (D.C. schools have a lock on the worst system).  That my friends is a stream of barely consciousness.  Wow......

Future Cynthia McKinney.

Uh I don't think so. Despite the inane rambling of this lady she still has way more intellectual prowess than Cynthia and would be totally unacceptable to the majority of voters in that particular district. Recall their current man once opined that he was concerned about sending more troops to Guam out of concern that they would sink the island or tip it over or something equally insanely stupid.

I like the part about how she can't think about a job with Homeland Security on the train. Maybe she should stop riding the train.

Hound, having ridden MARTA that was the one area where I sympathize with her. Not sure if you knew this but for a while MARTA had a woman on their board that was a serial welfare recipient. It sort of explained why they were such a fiscal mess and why every surrounding county has declined to link to MARTA by anything other than a bus drop off. Not to hijack the thread, but has this fall been as nice at the lake as it has in Atlanta? My wife and I were down two weeks ago with our daughters and hiked the Deadening Alpine trail off HWY 50. It was a little dreary weather wise but the hike was still spectacular. She also likes to play golf at Stillwaters so I am ever closer to getting her there more when I finally give up on the environmental business.

Lake has been gorgeous. The weather in the mid-70's and so sunny. Fall is one of my favorite times of year here. And it is so quiet. Some days we get beautiful sunrises at our house. Perfect for coffee on the porch or the dock. The worst thing about living here full time is the inconvenience to shopping. No quick trips anywhere, and it can waste a lot of time. For your wife, moving from Atlanta is probably like it was for me moving from DC -- it's a bit of shock to your system. No, I've never ridden the MARTA (in fact, I've never actually been to Atlanta), but I can believe the system is a mess. Probably like the METRO in DC is a financial mess.

I checked with my sources and received conflicting reports. The first is that she a RNC plant sent from Virginia to be interviewed for FOX and supports Cain. The other report is that her teleprompter was confiscated by Homeland Security. I wonder if Cain wins will all blacks be referred to as Cain voters?

You may want to make a joke about a serious issue and I guess that may be the way you deal with life but when you see protesters with this level of education it is downright scary.  I am fairly certain that she is one of the almost 50% that contributes nothing to the government but only takes from it and can vote to keep more coming.  So make  your jokes while our country falls apart.

GF, on your first point if she were in fact an RNC plant she deserves an academy award. It is incredibly hard to fake being that stupid. On your second point, the answer is yes, if they actually vote for Cain. Sadly the black community is so entrenched in the Democrat party plantation of the soft bigotry kind (i.e., low expectations) that they will most likely vote for a charlatan promising everything while doing nothing but enriching himself rather than a black man that actually succeeded through hard work and risk taking. Until the poverty pimp generation takes their millions and fade away, or until blacks extract themselves from the government school system, not much will change. It is sad and you would think after 40 years of abject failure they would come to understand that liberalism just doesn't work. But generational ignorance is hard to fix.....

But MM, the Democrat Plantation IS working for them and will until the country is truly bankrupt or the rest of the country regains its senses.  They may be smarter than you think when it comes to the "I want mine, and I want it now" attitude.

When it hits the fan, be sure you have your supplies, duck and cover, then wait for the entitlement group to destroy themselves...

Maybe next paycheck I'll get another case of 5.56 and look into investing in an AK and a Mossberg pump 12 gauge to go along with the AR, 1911a1, and Glock.

I only have a 22, 45 and tactical 12-gauge (that I keep under my bed) but have been thinking about an AR. Any recommendations?

DPMS makes every kind you could want, and are priced right... 16" carbines with retractable stocks are very short and easy to swing, for long range work, they have free-floated 24" heavy barrels (my wife's favorite). Whatever you get - go with Magpul magazines - they are available for both the 5.56 and 7.62.

My AR is a DPMS and I have been very pleased.  Agree with the short stock and barrel for urban and home settings - in fact if you take a good look at what they are using in Iraq they look like overgrown pistols.  I believe they go with a 10 inch barrel.

"...Mossberg pump 12 gauge..." - Ah, my pistol grip short barrel 12 gauge pump is one of my favorites! It's good to keep one at the lake too just in case any "snakes" try to break in.

My "snake gun" of choice is a Benelli m4, one by the night stand in town, with the other by the night stand at the lake, have a DPMS Panther Lite AR15 for the coyotes, back pocket always holds a KelTech .380 just right, keep the S&W model 99 in the seat so I won't have to unbuckle in an emergency, bridie loves her Glock 23. Tried for more caliber commonality with the personal protection and just could not find the sweet spot. 99 is my favorite but with a Walther frame, cannot find accessories for it, therefore the exile to the car.

I have more weapons around my house than my age - including 2 AR15s.1 shot from a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with #1 Buck (20 pellets) at 40 yards will kill more snakes than multiple shots from any rifle.

for the Webmaster to create a "Guns" forum. I'll leave it to Feb to talk about our guns... but we have them. I'm wondering how many people carry a gun on them. I have a handgun that I keep in my purse (I have a permit to carry a concealed weapon).

All I can say is wow! Good for you although I would venture a guess it is less necessary around Lake Martin than when you lived in D.C. (recognizing that carrying a handgun in D.C. is illegal which is why there is so much crime). I think a gun forum is a great idea. I am somewhat new to gun ownership and would enjoy a forum devoted to that topic.

The wife likes a 12 gauge pump for home defense (I recommend it for novice shooters), I prefer a .45 with ten rounds, two backup magazines and a flashlight in the nightstand. If you get up-close and personal with a snake in the house, they have very little to try to grab with a handgun, and if they try, rocking back and squeezing the trigger should resolve the issue.

I am just at a total loss as to how one can view the original post and make the leap to guns. LOL  I wonder if some will jump on this with the "no one needs a gun theme".  If there any of those with that attitude I hope they change before they wish they had one to protect them and their families.

Yes, I do. I travel a lot of back roads. And there is always the possibility of hitting a deer and needing to put it down.

I would agree that no one needs A gun.  Haven't found the all purpose gun yet, so the collection will have to suffice.

How about the "Johnny Seven OMA"? :-) Start out with a Barrett M82A1, and attach a DPMS LR-308 on one side, a S&W 500 and a HK MP5SD on the bottom, a Kimber Ultra carry one the other side... Well, better just mount that on an m-134 minigun... Almost perfect. :-)

I remember when 2 of my Brothers and Myself had the Johnny Sevens and was the envy of the block! I now have 1--12 gauge automatic, 1-- 30-06 bolt action,1-- 30-30 Marlin, 1--20 gauge single shot, 1--22 long rifle and 1-- 38 Rossie hand gun. and may get more. Remember guns don't kill people, People kill people. It just evens the score some.
