From FOX News

"Long before President Obama even entered the Oval Office, both men supported an idea they now pretend to spurn — the idea of requiring people to buy health insurance.

As recently as 2009, Romney publicly supported, the “individual mandate” for buying health insurance. And as recently as last month one of Gingrich’s websites still endorsed the “mandate” for all Americans earning more than $50,000 annually.

Romney and Gingrich are not alone in their history of supporting the idea of a government requirement that everyone buy health insurance. As governor of Utah in 2007, Jon Huntsman endorsed a health care reform plan from the United Way of Salt Lake City that called for a mandate.

“I think if you’re going to get it done and get it done right, the mandate has to be part of it in some way, shape or form,” he said at the time.

Gingrich, Romney and Huntsman are wide open to charges of political hypocrisy."

Well I think that summarizes why Romney can't rise above 20% or so and why there is a lot of hand wringing with Newt. But if political hypocrisy were a disqualifier for elected office Congress would be a pretty quiet place......now you have me fantasizing..... Regardless, I will be happy to trade political hypocrisy barbs with Oblamer any day. If we look at this rhetoric during the '08 campaign and what he has actually said and done as the Teleprompter in Chief he would be worthy of the Nobel Prize for political hypocrites!

Here’s Charles Krauthammer in the Washington Post:

Gingrich’s obvious weakness is a history of flip-flops, zigzags and mind changes even more extensive than Romney’s — on climate change, the health-care mandate, cap-and-trade, Libya, the Ryan Medicare plan, etc.

Uh, Charles Krauthammer is hardly my favorite journalist but he points out one of Newt's weaknesses, if only to bolster the guy he supports who also has a similar history (Romney).

But frankly anyone that flips wrong and flops right is infinitely better than someone who is wrong all the time such as the Messiah.  You really don't get it GF, the candidate I will support is the one running against Oblamer whoever that is because they will be a dramatic improvement even if not perfect.  There is that much energy in the country because we have now learned as a country something I knew 3 years ago when I voted for a far from perfect McCain....there is a difference between Dems and Republicans.
