Since Dec 3rd Lake Allatoona water level has been dropped just short of 7' and below any low-point I can find in the last 5-6 years on the corps' charts.  Not sure what is going on?  Hole in the dam?

Are any other corps lakes being dropped quickly this month?

WOW, looks strange to me, but they had the lake this low in 2006 and the drought had it this low in 2007.  Maybe the Corps has declared the drought over and reset the dam for winter floods!!  I'll see what I can find out.

Don't even try to figure it out. This is the same Corps that reported siginificant incorrect elevations for Lake Lanier for weeks. They said it was an "equipment malfunction". Uh...let's see...when you show up for work you look at the shoreline or the dam and don't notice it? I don't think its incompetence I think they do what they want for whatever reason.

It's not 7' low it's 17' low with only 1 or maybe 2 boat ramps open. Why is not clear, at least that I can see unless the corp is expecting a lot of rain later. Texas is the state that needs alot of rain (in a bad way). A couple or more stroms would help some.

yeah, just 7' drop in recent weeks.

The fast drop stopped after I posted, lol, have held it steady for over a day now, woohoo!

Sometimes drawdowns are scheduled for maintenance and such, but if that is the case it should be well published somewhere. Now I am curious when I was blissfully ignorant.

yeah but I had heard, not read though, that the corps was going to keep Allatoona levels higher this winter vs. historical levels.
