Title says it all. I personally think the tax rate should have been reduced by the 2 points last year rather than the bankrupt Social Security rate.

Well now lets see if Hound continues her incoherence or will she applaud the GOP for their fecklessness.  I am thinking the former is likely to be the case.  She now gets her much desired "compromise" but of course those of us with half a brain realize that we will be right back at square one in February as this stupid extension elapses and the Democrat-controlled Senate continues to shirk their responsibility and pass a budget.

On the bright side, Oblamer can finally head off on vacation which is when he does his best work for America......nothing.

all those Republicans changed their conscience that they were standing and voting on. MM, you are incredibly unsophisticated in the ways of Washington. It's all just politics to them. It's about getting re-elected. The Repubs realized that they weren't looking like heroes, and it was going to help Obama and hurt them. Conscience has no part of it.

You are right about politics ... but it is too bad the american people can not see through the smoke and mirrors ... that is always the way with Oblamer.   He insists upon a 1 year extension ... the house gives it to him, his own party rejects it and gives him two months, but forces his hand on something that should have been approved months ago ... but he bows to the environmentalists rather than do what is right for america and create jobs.

As MM already pointed out, we will waste more time on this in two month and it will be fun to see how Oblamer spins the pipeline .... I will bet his decision will be "NO" and he wil spin it faster than a top.

Hound, lets refresh your memory so you can understand why you remain incoherent. You took the position that the Republicans were unprincipled in their opposition to this stupidity. Now you are taking the position that they are unprincipled in letting it go. Which is it? If their opposition was all political and their acceptance was all political then you are truly incoherent. Isn't it possible that their opposition was principled and their acceptance of the leadership's request to let this go was merely a realistic bipartisan act given the abrogation of their duty by Dems in the Senate? I suppose you will say no because you are a cynic and that is what living in D.C. does to you and why you have so little credibility. The fact is you hate Republicans so much that you become fixated and critical of those trying to do the right thing and totally ignore the incompetence and abject political cynicism of the Dem-led Senate. That speaks volumes to where your priorities lie. As for me, I will support those trying to do the right thing any day even if they are blocked by Harry Reid and Oblamer. Long live the Tea Party! And after 2012 when the Tea Party controls the House and the Senate whoever is in the White House will become irrelevant. Only then will we have the elimination of the federal income tax, repatriation of federal employee TSP accounts so the money can be returned to its rightful owners (the productive of society), abortion will be put back into the alleys where it belongs, gays will be deported to Europe (heck, they vacation their all summer anyway), Americans will be required by law to own a gun, dozens of federal agencies will be eliminated (starting with EPA, HUD, education, commerce, etc, etc.) and we will finally nuke Iran and send them back to the 6th century with their pedophile religious leader and so on....... Man, will life be good then!!

I'm not incoherent. They should have gotten off their pedestal and negotiated with the Dems to start with. The whole thing was just political theater and I don't know about you, but I'm pretty tired of political theater. I just want them to do their ** jobs. According to the polls, it looks like I am not alone in this.

Maybe their job as defined by their constituents is to oppose stupid temporary legislation and pass a budget that restores fiscal sanity. I know that is the message my Representative gets on a regular basis. You act like every voter wants their GOP member to negotiate away their core principals with the mind-numbed libtards in Congress. On that note you are wrong. Their job is to vote no on stupid, destructive legislation. If they don't they will lose their jobs and the voters will put someone else in there that will. That is why you are incoherent. You act like what you personally want is the desire of every voter. I can assure you that if there is unhappiness in my district it isn't because they opposed this legislation....its because they let it pass. Likewise in left-wing districts they are unhappy when their member rolls over to some GOP legislation. And on a final point, you need to look at the polls on an individual basis and forget the overall rating of Congress. Its sort of like the government school system. Wide majorities of people think they stink but they always seem to like theirs. How else can you explain that the majority of them get reelected over and over despite abysmal overall ratings. Everyone thinks Congress stinks but they like their guy or gal. Honestly Hound, sometimes you are so naive about the way of politics. :-)

You are so brainwashed. It's just all political theatre. We are coming up on an Election year.

Hound, you keep using the term brainwashed but I prefer the term informed. I believe what I believe because of the knowledge I have and you never provide anything with a factual basis. All you do is present your emotions and wishful thinking grounded in nothing. I prefer facts and an understanding of history to rank emotion.......

From what I see of your posts, you just prefer the sound of your own voice, droning on and on and on..... with what you think are "facts".

But they are facts nonetheless. You need to do a little research on your own and point out my factual inaccuracies if they exist....which I know there are none. You see Hound, just because you say they aren't facts doesn't make it so and doesn't convince anyone of anything except that like liberals, you simply choose to believe things that are not true because it makes you feel good.....somehow......
