Feb, earlier this week, I heard a lot of gun shots coming from the general direction of your place. Some sounded like a cannon! Is someone in your slough taking target practice or are those shots coming from hunters near the lake?

If it was Wednesday afternoon, then I am the guilty party. I was trying out a new Remington 1911, .45 ACP. I hope it did not upset or bother you. As a full timer, I try to only burn or shoot during the week. (Please don't worry since I only shoot in a direction away from the Lake and with a good backstop.) Where are you located compared to my place? I was firing some mild handloads, and I guess the water must amplify the sound if it was like a Cannon. LOL Come on over and join the party if you like to shoot.

Feb, don't know where you are on the lake but I am also a full-timer and typically shoot during the week (but sometimes on weekends like today).  I'm in the Parker Creek area and would like to meet another shooter.  Yes, we do get some echo across the water.  Shot several rounds this afternoon without ear protection and it was LOUD!

No, Bigfoot, if I have my bearings straight they live that close to each other.  They are probably just shooting into opposites sides of the same hill.  Of course, I could be off course a bit.

Happy New Year

Tarpon, Make sure you use hearing protection. I am an example of what can happen to you if you do not. We are in the Oakachoy Creek sector of Parker Creek, and yes it would always be nice to greet and shoot. I suspect the best shooters are on the Western side of the 63 Bridge over the entire huge Eastern Side. Maybe BigFoot and lakengulf can arrange a challenge. I suspect four cases of beer, six bottles of wine and some bottled water would make for a proper wager.

I do believe you missed my point. The point was a wager for the winners after the shooting WAS done. I WOULD NEVER - NEVER CONDONE OR BE A PARTY TO MIXING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND FIREARMS. (I am steamed to think you would even infer that I would be a party to such.)

Feb, your home faces ours. As you leave your place, just before you reach the Narrows, we're the light brown place on the right. My brother is down about every other weekend from Chelsea. I live in NC but still manage to visit 10-12 times per year. I was there doing yard work, burning leaves, etc. this week. Hopefully we'll meet sometime.

OK, I know where you are located. I did see the smoke where you were burning. You picked a nice week to be down and getting a little yard work accomplished. Are your future plans to move down some day?

Generate your beer can targets by drinking while you are reloading.... You may still have trouble getting a triple load of 231 into those little 45 ACP cases though.
